IndiaUnited Weekly Contest #17: My Personal Perspective on the State of Safety in My Country.

It's another weekend and another day to share my thoughts here in the Indian community, and here is another weekly contest that is tagged: "How safe is your country?" I decided to join this contest because I love this topic so much, and it's one of the topics that I really love to talk about because it's a very crucial topic that has been bothering me and disturbing most of the citizens of the country. This topic is just more than a mere topic to me, more so, it will enable so many people who enjoy the context to be able to share what is going on in their country, and we can also learn from it. Here is a Link to join this contest.

Okay, now straight to the topic of the contest. How safe is your country? Talking about safety and security, this is one of the top priorities in every country, and I feel this is really lagging in most of the countries'. In my country, Nigeria, safety is nothing to write about because I do say that you are a security to yourself, and no one can protect you if you do not protect yourself. Here in my country is where you sleep, and you cannot sleep with your full chest because you will be thinking of what might go wrong while you are asleep.

I would make a scenario of what I am talking about concerning this contest topic. The level of safety in my country is very bad, to the extent that people get killed even by the roadside, and there is no one to even question them about why they killed the person, and even the security agent is now conniving with terrorists to even terrorize the citizen. Tell me, where is the safety in the country when those who are supposed to safeguard the lives of the citizens are the ones perpetrating evil?

Last night I was out with my friends to have some drinks after a long day, and while I was with them, we got a call that someone was killed at the junction of the road, and this person is a business owner, which we were told has been into cultism and that gangs came after him if not the other gang member. If the level of security around that area has been so tight, I am very sure there won't be any reason for someone like that to be killed in a broad daylight, and there won't be any measures to get them arrested.

Now tell me what would become of those who have no one to safeguard them at all. At least those who have guards can rest assured that they have someone to protect them. But on the contrary, having security guards in my country does not guarantee you can get killed or hurt because, no matter how strong your security is, they will still be loose ends at some point, and your security will lose. As it stands, my country is not really safe, and on a scale of 1–10, the level of security in my country is 5. What is the level of security in your country? Let's hear your view.
