Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 166

The Common grackle, a bird that doesn't stop by very often.

I know that @farm-mom has photographed them before and posted about them, but this is the first time I've been fortunate enough to take a few pics of this bird. Despite the difference in size, the House sparrow doesn't look like it's going anywhere, holding its ground as the two birds eye up each other.

I'm not sure why they call this bird COMMON, as its iridescent coloring is anything but ordinary.
Adjusting the pic on the right by adding a little light and adjusting the contrast the crackle's colors come alive.

These two birds seem to be getting along just fine. I know that the one to the right is a crackle. Is the other one with the brown head a female crackle?

I wonder what makes their eyes stand out?

Thank you @melinda010100 @barbara-orenya and @nelinoeva for another week of pleasure, SMaP #166.

Sparrows are birds with a lot of personality, they do not let themselves be intimidated by other birds.
What a beautiful bird, and what you say is true, that bird has nothing common, the color of its feathers and the color of its eyes are truly beautiful. Beautiful shots dear friend @thebigsweed
Have a great day

Thank you for stopping in, I was surprised to see the sparrow holding its own with such a large bird.

They probably have laser eyes, like the ones we see on the online photos of the "influencers" shilling cryptos... :)))) Beautiful bird, too bad I don't have that species here. Cheers! !BEER

Grackles definitely are stunning to see under the sunshine where their remarkably colored feathers shine.
Have you ever seen courtship of a male and female grackle? It's hilarious! I'll have to find photos of the ritual in the cloud!

Good luck in the contest @thebigsweed and say hello to @farm-mom!

Good to hear from you @ninahaskin, I hope all is well. On a cloudy day, the grackle looks very ordinary, but the sunlight reflecting from the bird paints a different story.
I've never seen the courtship of the crackles, but this is the time of year for mating so maybe I'll get lucky.
I'll let @farm-mom know you said hello.

Eyes draw you in, then sun captures the feathers to dazzle in fine display, pretty couple together with little difference between male and female except for the head.
