Today Drawing Card Name: Eternan Brune
Eternan Brune is the warlord leader of the Drybone Anarchists, a tribalistic faction that controls the Drybone Badlands in the Wild Northeast of Praetoria. His people see him as some kind of god and will follow his every word with blind obedience.
Eternan Brune and his anarchists are the scourge of the Drybone Badlands, raiding trading caravans and nearby settlements. Eternan rarely joined in these raids, preferring instead to rule from his wasteland citadel while seated upon his throne of bones and battle-won trophies. However, when the Chaos Legion began encroaching upon his territory, the llamataur came forth to join the raids, concerned that he would lose control of his territory to these invaders.
Now Eternan stands at the front of his ravaging tribes, intent on leading them in battle in the defense of his lands and his empire of anarchy. He uses fire magic to imbue strength into the hearts of his people and wields a long flaming whip made from the vertebrae of those that challenged him for leadership of the Drybone Anarchists. It and his spiked armor act as a suitable deterrent to those who may wish to confront him for the position.
Eternan Brune's whip cracked, scoring a bloody line across the chest of the captive, who was chained to a large boulder. The man's screams echoed across the surrounding hills, and his legs gave out, leaving the poor wretch hanging from his chains.
Eternan scowled. “I won't keep asking the same question. One way or another, you're gonna tell me what I want to know.”
“P…please, I don't know where they all are. I'm just a—”
The whip cut him short, tearing the prisoner's head from his shoulders and spraying gore across the boulder.
“Bring me the next one,” Eternan said. “And bring one to watch as well. This is becoming tiresome.”
A pair of orcs dragged two men from a nearby cave and dumped them in front of their decapitated comrade. They removed the dead body from the manacles, putting one of the newcomers in its place. Another burly orc hauled the other captive to his knees and stood behind the man with his arms crossed over his muscle-bound chest.
Eternan's whip barked again, only this time it snapped at thin air. “You've seen what's become of your brother. All I ask is that you answer one simple question.”
The bound prisoner raised his head to stare Eternan in the eyes. “I'll rot before I tell you anything, beast rutter!”
Eternan's eyes blazed at the insult, and he answered with his whip, cutting the fool's body clean in two.
Eternan seethed, his words barely a hiss. “Put the next one in his place.”
As the orcs lifted the prisoner to his feet, the man pissed himself. “I'll tell you whatever you want to know. Anything! I beg you, just don't kill me.”
Eternan dangled his whip on the ground, the pieces of vertebrae clicking as it coiled like a snake preparing to strike. “I simply want to know where the rest of your forces are.”
The man blinked, confusion and panic gripping his face in a desperate tug-o-war. “Th…the Chaos Legion? They're everywhere. Tens of thousands of them. Everywhere.”
"Thank you for your time and consideration. Best wishes to all as we move forward together."
Best wishes to all
