Today I'm going to talk about The Beach Boys. In the early 1960s, Brian Wilson was looking for an idea for The Beach Boys, a band that had emerged as an interesting proposal in the North American scene characterized by surfing and romance.

Conversations with people who live the surfer lifestyle inspired Brian Wilson to write Surfin' USA. To do this, he compiled a list of cities his surf buddies told him about and named Chubby Checker "Twistin' U.S.A." I added it to the song like we did on the show.

He then used Chuck Berry's "Sweet Little Sixteen" in the music section, forming vocal harmonies with his bandmates. The result was a song that reached number 1 on the US charts. The song became famous when it was included on the group's self-titled album in 1963.

Surfin' USA is a staple of rock history and a unique document of the lives of surfers in the '60s. It was included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's list of 500 songs that shaped rock and roll.
