WEEK 254: Country Living for Tranquillity
I hope you are always happy. Today I'd like to join in on the always interesting weekly topic. There's more than one topic I'd like to use actually, but since I can't be greedy, I'll just pick one of them.
City living or country living, which is your preference and why?
A few years ago, I would have chosen city living. Because with the mobility access that is all easily accessible, with various and many public facilities, including many kinds of malls or various hang out places, it certainly makes me more lively and not easily bored. And I've been living in the city for about 16 years.
However, in recent years, especially after covid, it turns out that I really enjoy country living. And yes, from birth to adolescence I lived country living. What reasons made me decide so?
SLOW LIVING.
Yeah ... even though life in the city is very pleasant and we seem to be embraced by various conveniences, there are things that make city living not for my future life.
I still go back to my hometown periodically. The village where I live is still quite beautiful. There is a small forest in our village, lots of rice fields, and every morning, I can still enjoy the view of Mount Slamet although it's not very close.
In addition, the backyard or front yard of the house that still has a little land left and can be used to put potted plants or for direct planting media makes cuntry living very suitable for me.
As far as the eye can see, I always see the green colour of the universe.
My village is one kilometre from the provincial road, so it's not too noisy and not too polluted by vehicles. I can still enjoy the fresh air, and the reassuring silence.
Maybe one day I'll prepare for my future country life. After all, in the age of technological sophistication, country living still won't be left behind. You know, two kilometres from my village there's even a cinema!
I used to have to drive about an hour to reach the cinema. Now, less than 10 minutes by motorbike, I'm already at the cinema. So, even though there are days I'll miss the glittering city, at least when I wake up I can be grateful for waking up in a quiet environment. That's all for my weekend story. Thank you for supporting me.
Hi, I am the child of the universe, I like to read books with various genres. I was born in the city of batik but can't draw batik yet. I want to be a novelist, but my works are only short poems that are included in anthology books.
