(ESP-ENG) El Parque del Búho, un nuevo lugar para visitar en la ciudad de Cali - The Owl Park, a new place to visit in the city of Cali

Hola querida comunidad amante de las aves, en esta ocasión quiero compartir un poco de lo que podemos encontrar en el nuevo barrio de la ciudad de Cali, a donde me pase a vivir. La estabilidad en mi lugar de residencia no ha sido uno de mis fuertes últimamente, pero esto me ha llevado a conocer nuevos lugares y sorprenderme con la diversidad que hay en nuestra bella ciudad de Cali. Por alguna razón seremos la sede de COP16 una conferencia mundial que habla sobre la importancia de proteger y preservar la biodiversidad en el planeta tierra.

Hello dear bird-loving community, on this occasion I want to share a little of what we can find in the new neighborhood of the city of Cali, where I moved to live. Stability in my place of residence has not been one of my strengths lately, but this has led me to visit new places and be surprised by the diversity that exists in our beautiful city of Cali. For some reason we will be hosting COP16, a world conference that talks about the importance of protecting and preserving biodiversity on planet Earth.

El parque del Búho, un nuevo parque que conocí en las cercanías de mi casa, un lugar donde las personas brindan un cuidado especial a las aves, incluso se dieron a la hermosa tarea de homenajear el parque en nombre de un búho que suele verse en las noches merodeando por los arboles de este hermoso lugar.

The Owl Park, a new park that I discovered near my house, a place where people give special care to the birds, they even took on the beautiful task of honoring the park in the name of an owl that is usually seen in the nights wandering through the trees of this beautiful place.

Y hablando de arboles, que mejor ejemplar para mostrar su grandeza y su imponencia que este hermoso caucho, un árbol muy común y característico de nuestra región, pero el hecho que sea común no quiere decir que no sea un ser vivo espectacular.

And speaking of trees, what better specimen to show its greatness and its imposingness than this beautiful rubber tree, a very common and characteristic tree of our region, but the fact that it is common does not mean that it is not a spectacular living being.

Bosque Urbano Caracolíes, una estrategia implementada desde hace algunos años en la ciudad, para impulsar la concientización de la sociedad de la gran biodiversidad que encontramos en nuestra ciudad. Es increíble la cantidad de aves que podemos encontrar en este pequeño pero diverso lugar. Las mas comunes de encontrar son: El famoso bichofué, conocido por singular y fuerte canto, el gavilán que el aumento de su numero de especies ha sido muy significativo últimamente en la ciudad, y algunos tipos de garzas; como la garza blanca y el ibis negro.

Caracolíes Urban Forest, a strategy implemented for some years in the city, to promote society's awareness of the great biodiversity that we find in our city. It is incredible the number of birds that we can find in this small but diverse place. The most common to find are: The famous bichofué, known for its unique and loud song, the hawk whose increase in the number of species has been very significant lately in the city, and some types of herons; like the white heron and the black ibis.

Admito que no soy el mejor fotógrafo de aves jaja, pero es un placer para mi tener un espacio en donde compartir la importancia de estos animales y su contribución esencial al medio ambiente y la preservación de la biodiversidad. En muchas ocasiones por ingresar especies que no son del hábitat, se generan desequilibrios en las cadenas alimenticias que terminan en la supremacía de una especie y la disminución evidente de la biodiversidad, por esta razón en importante concientizar a las personas de no traficar, ni comprar, ni manipular animales de otras regiones que puedan desencadenar una purga ambiental.

I admit that I am not the best bird photographer haha, but it is a pleasure for me to have a space where I can share the importance of these animals and their essential contribution to the environment and the preservation of biodiversity. On many occasions, due to the introduction of species that do not belong to the habitat, imbalances are generated in the food chains that end in the supremacy of one species and the obvious decrease in biodiversity, for this reason it is important to make people aware of not trafficking or buying , nor manipulate animals from other regions that could trigger an environmental purge.

Este gavilán es cada vez mas común verlo en la ciudad, incluso ahora es común verlos en grupos de hasta cinco, lo cual a mi parecer antes no era muy habitual, realmente no soy un experto en comportamiento animal ni biodiversidad, pero creo que el incremento exponencial de esta ave puede poner en peligro la biodiversidad, como aclare anteriormente solo es una percepción y una opinión de una persona que disfruta admirar el mundo natural.

This sparrowhawk is increasingly common to see in the city, even now it is common to see them in groups of up to five, which in my opinion was not very common before, I am not really an expert in animal behavior or biodiversity, but I think that the increase The exponential growth of this bird can endanger biodiversity, as I clarified above, it is only a perception and opinion of a person who enjoys admiring the natural world.
