CHANGE (LoH #190)

(Edited)

Whoever began the statement “Change is the only thing constant in life” must have experienced great changes in his lifetime. Started as an infant to then a child, all of a sudden a teenager and before you know it an adult i could say it's one significant change that had me so well.

Being someone who began working from the age of 16, got me a whole lot of exposure. I could rightly say change started with me from there.

I don't fancy talking about the experience of my family’s story except it’s called for and just as the week's prompt states ”Change”.

Am a girl who has experienced changes since my teens. It all started from the period my dad sold out our last property which unfortunately was the house we lived in then, and just when we thought we could use the money to rent a house somewhere at a different location and start a small business with what's left, we were told that my dad had been arrested.

We later came to realize that the house we lived in was used as a collateral for a debt which was yet to be paid but was still sold behind bars.

At last, the whole matter was taken to court and was concluded with us taking only five percent shares of the money sold while the rest would be given to the other party.

Still yet we had to bail dad from the cell, rented an apartment and brought a little food stuff and all was done from the five percent given. There wasn't even a room to start a small business.

At first it was fine since there was food stuff and luckily it was during the holidays but after a few months it became all bad and then the covid came at such a crucial moment so I was made to work to support my household.

Taking responsibility at such a stage wasn't easy from the beginning, especially in the issue of dealing with people and spending money. So many things went wrong at the time that I could remember when I gave mom my whole capital out of pity or should I say ignorance to please her which gave a big blow to my perfume business at that time.

However, things are different now being that I started off early and got familiar with the world and people to some extent as well as many others. My experience also gave me the sense of responsibility on how to manage myself alongside expenses.

As a young adult, managing stress, challenges and being accountable is one big change have gradually adjusted to since the very day i took the decision to begin working and am grateful for how far i've grown over the years and never for once regretted things going sour for my family and I due to my belief of a better change coming our way someday soon.

Wow, thanks for sharing that. It is courageous of you to write about it, when you clearly say that you do not like to discuss it. All the best for you and your family.

You went through difficult times from a young age, it is not easy to leave at 16 to work in order to help your family but you had the courage to do it and that shows your love for them and your strength as a human being. I send you a hug 🤗

Such a difficult experience especially since you were very young then. I sometimes think that life tests our resolve to train us into a better, more resilient person.

Thank you for sharing, !LADY❤️

The glass is half full @toryfestus adversity can be channeled positively to actions that move us forward, we 'grow up' and mature in the process rather than wasting energy being a victim. That you can be proud of.

This is a pathetic story
Life is just full of stories that when we remember we question how we ever come out of such situations
Thank God for who you are today and who you are becoming ❤️

Hmm, you've experienced a lot and I am glad you are still optimistic and courageous. That's why they said when life offers us a lesson, may we make lemonade from it.

Popped in from Dreemport, always an awesome #dreemerforlife.
