Pride and Drama #158

Something just happened and it has me all riled up and full of regrets. Relax, I'll tell you about it, but first, the back story.

Remember when I told you I had to go to my alma mater to make some enquiries? Yeah, on my way back I met someone. A mutual friend introduced us and he was pretty cool and nice 🙃. Any, we became friends, texting and calling and stuff like that. One day, he makes a post online and I recognise who it was about. You'd never guess. It was Kizito, a classmate in secondary school. Out of excitement I go,

"Small world, you know Kizito. He was my classmate in sec. school."

And He's like, "😃 yes!"

Next thing I know, he sends me a video and in it is me dancing with Kizito, 😂 with the caption:

"It's true, I remember, I made this video. It was me singing in the background."
😲😄

I'm not sure I told you about it, I was probably too tired to make any new entries. It was at the annual Law Dinner...

When it was time for graduands to dance, they made us do so upfront and that's where I saw Kizito. I was pleased to see he was a guest and my song was on so I danced with him for a little while before moving on. I had no idea someone that I was going to meet in the near future captured the moment. Haha. When he sent me the video, it felt surreal. I told him so too.
Oh my bad, his name's Henry.
We laughed about it, he mentioned how close him and Kizito are, and that was that.
Or so I thought.

Well well, sometime later, days later actually, he drops a statement saying I did his friend dirty. Now, this is where the story begins.

Back in 2018, before you came along, I travelled to the capital city to sort a couple of things out. It was so important it couldn't wait even though I had exams the same week. When I was finished, it was already late so I scheduled my heading back for the following day. I reached out to Kizito who stayed there at the time asking for hotel reservations within my budget, but he said it'll be difficult and offered his place. When I had settled in, he offered to plug in my phone but it slipped from his hand and broke. I took it well but I was worried because my study materials were on the phone and I didn't own a PC at the time. In his usual bragadocious attitude, he said I didn't have to worry that he'll take care of it. The next day, I got home and called him to fulfil his "promise" but he reneged and said he'll only send me what he had. I was so upset but I let it go and distanced myself from him. Apparently, he didn't and told anyone who cared to listen (including Henry) that he helped me when I was stranded (what!?), and still asked him to pay for my phone when he broke it. Hilarious right?

Because Henry mentioned they were close, despite my having let it go, evident even in the video, I decided to clear the air with Kizito, so I called. Dude got agitated real quick and hung up the call on me after mentioning he had the hots for me... 😄

I'm gonna tag it all Jealousy 'cause he thinks Henry is about to have what he couldn't. 😉

Oh well, I was full of regrets 'cause I wish I never reached out. I wish I just ignored, as is my usual fashion.
