Not sure if relevant - what I found out (or think) - posts by others work way better than using your own content from Hive (self promotion warning or deleting in many subreddits - hence it might be better to post content by others (maybe depends also on user name they see in your reddit profile vs Hive).
But i am no expert here - jsut my second week.

In general, it's true. But some subreddits prefer you post your own work. For example, photography subs. But they don't generate many views for link shares, alas (only for images directly uploaded to Reddit).
