What I see

A bird is flying over a river body.

What I feel

The bird seems to be surprised by seeing something.

Story

Ah! How lucky you are, bird! You can fly wherever you want, however high you wish! You are free from the burdens. You are not chained like me. You are not destined to be doomed like me! Why are you surprised? You have not seen anyone like me flying before, or rather falling to the absolute end? I envy you, bird, I envy you. I flew, even higher than you, but was not free, I wish I were free like you!

This was the thing Icarus was thinking, when he was falling from the sky not listening to his father's advise of not going too high and destroying the wings.

I wish I were a free bird also. You have written a little but you shared your feeling very simply within those words which was powerful. I am quite impressed.

Free Birds have their burdens as well just not a human around cutting their wings.

This is a great, sad and intriguing entry.

Lovely story of desire and determination. Icarus' motivation was freedom from his shackles and perhaps duties as he wasn't allowed to venture farther than assigned. I love how he showed the surprised gull that he could do it. The bird probably hadn't seen him go to such heights before. But eventually, his path was pre-determined. He wasn't free to go beyond his destiny.

I like in the end where he defied his father in one last attempt to experience the feeling of freedom, being able to go beyond his limits despite knowing the consequences. A thoughtful read. Nicely done.

Thanks for sharing. Take care.
