What I see

A fairly old woman holding a camera. She is looking in front but not through the lens. She is wearing a vest on her clothes.

What I feel

I feel that she is most probably a photojournalist, not a hobbyist as that is what her attire suggests. Her grip on the camera suggests she is a professional and quite good at her work, maybe it is her passion also. However, there is hesitation in her eyes and the position of her holding the camera supports it.

Story

Rose fell in love with photography at an earlier age. Her passion for photography, and love for the camera motivated and helped her will to stand with the oppressed and spread the news worldwide. Throughout the lens, she spread many events of tyranny to the whole world.

She had an exhibition scheduled at the 'City Art Center', Edinburgh on July 25th. She was supposed to reach Edinburgh on the 20th. But the peaceful protest in her country turned into chaos when the government issued a shoot-at-sight order on the students.

'How can I leave my country behind in the crucial time? I need to show the world what is happening in the country right now!' She thought.

She called Mitchelle the secretary of the City Art Center.

'Hello Mitchelle. How are you? I have a request for you.'

'What is it Rose?' replied Mitchelle.

'The situation of my country is brisk. I feel something bad can happen. So I will be arriving a few days later, but hopefully before the exhibition. I hope you can manage. Also, keep some extra frames and be prepare for some last moment addition.'

'Alright Rose, everything will be done. Be safe. Do not risk yourself.'

'I won't Mitchelle. Thanks!'

July 19th

Rose started going to the places where her contacts were telling was a clash between the Security forces and the students. It was almost night when she came to a place that was unrest, although there were no clashes the atmosphere was as if it was preparing for a dangerous storm the calmness was the warning bell for the hazard to come!

Her social media manager called, 'Rose, return to the office quickly. Government has issued a shot-at-sight order. You know they will not want any proof of taking the lives of the unarmed. Situation can worsen any moment, please return home.'

She was shocked to hear this! Her country, which earned her freedom through a bloody war against the oppressors who killed students, was again run by the oppressors! She became determined to speak out about this rotten system of her country.

She prepared her camera, changed the battery to a fully charged one, and inserted an empty memory card. She was hoping the security forces would not shoot anyone and would only fire some warning shots.

Oh! How wrong she was!

Around 8 p.m. the security forces started a massacre and were killing whoever was on the roads! She was in a lane which was not far from the boulevard. She was shocked at the things happening around her. She decided to capture the brutality and hoped she would use those as evidence to bring the savages to justice.

Coming out to the road she came close to an even more unbelievable moment! She heard about how common people were forced to make a line and the Army would brushfire on them during the freedom fight of her country. As if the same play is acted in front of her.

She lost her ability to shout she was filled with hatred towards the government and the security force!

She was slowly picking up her camera to capture the repetition of history! A member of the security force saw her and shouted to his comrades, 'Look that witch has a camera!'

Several of them shouted at her rebuked her told her to not take any pictures. But nothing was coming through her ear to the brain.

Just like a zombie, she was picking up the camera to capture the brutality!

If she cannot record the terror of her country, then she is a failure as a photojournalist. This thought may be running through her head. She did not see that the hyenas had pointed their arms at her.......

There was an internet blackout in the country, so Mitchelle could not contact Rose or her manager. At the 21st an old lady whose identity was not found was buried by the organization that buries anonymous dead bodies!

They do not want anyone to have the proof, so, sadly, all was lost with her!
