Anime Tracks Thursday Contest

Imagine you're the DJ and I'm your audience.

I'm pretty sure you've heard a lot of anime songs or are you always skipping the OST? 😅 Hopefully, you still listen to the songs every now and then because they're gems!

For the theme:

What anime song would you set as your ringtone?

It should be an anime song, of course. Old or new, anything is fine as long as it suits with the theme.

I wonder what kind of anime song you would set as your ringtone.
Is it a lively one? A sad song? Or a scary one?
Also tell us why you chose that!

Let me know in the comments!
Please provide the title and the artist, and if possible a link to the music (youtube, spotify or maybe you singing?).

Luh thank you @wittyzell ( ◜‿◝ )♡!

And yesss! My alarm ring tone really fits with this one because it's from anime (One Piece), but it isn't an op or ed song, rather it's part of their series' soundtrack. It's the song that Luffy sang during the skypeia arc (my, my the nostalgia!)... That song got really stuck to my head because it's catchy, and it isn't like other ringtones (of 'course ahahaha). It really snaps me out of my sleepiness, and every time I heard it, I just laugh (because who wouldn't?).

(Edited)

Luffy's voice was really something else because I can't really forget it—especially his nice offtune singing (lol). This tune has been really effective for waking me up (it can even wake up my parents ahahaha)...

I think I could spend it changing the ringtone every week but if I had to choose I would choose Inferno from the anime Fire Force, a very energetic song, which starts with a very strong rhythm and energy from the beginning and it would be good to listen to the phone from the first moment of the call haha.

If I were to use a song from any anime as a ringtone, it would definitely be "Pegasus Fantasy"; the guitar riff not only wakes you up, but puts you in alarm and fight mode, raises your spirits to a thousand and if you happen to go to the wonderful sound of guitar, then there is always the scream: "Saint Seiya!" And with that is enough to answer the phone call, although possibly when listening to that song, probably end up singing and do not answer the phone.

I see I'm not the only one who chose Pegasus Fantasy :D. I agree, it's a great song that raises your adrenaline level, so you can do more in the gym.

Anime songs that I think are good for ringtones are...

LOVE 2000 - Anna Yanami (CV: Hikaru Toono) ED 1-4 Makeine (Too Many Losing Heroines).

Full version with lyrics

This is a cover. the original singer is Hitomi.

There is also a 2020 version

A long time ago I had the ringtone of Shingeki no Kyojin (Opening 1), composed by the band Linked Horizon. I have a big problem that I can hardly ever hear when they call me, and with this ringtone I could hear all the calls, it's simply amazing! and I don't use it just because I currently use one of a song I like.

I love yui yoshioka and she happens to have a lot of songs that are opening and ending songs in animes such as bleach, full metal alchemy, reLife, out of all the songs she has, as a ringtone I love rolling star, imagine the intro as someone calling you, it's bad ass, cool and rock n' roll hahaha

I already had two very popular ones, the ones that I probably love the most which are Blue Bird by Ikimonogakari from the Naruto Shippuden opening. And The Rumbling by SiM from Shingeki No Kyojin. Although different genres, both are powerful in their own way.

I would recommend as a ringtone: “Silhouette” by KANA-BOON from Naruto Shippuden.

An energetic song that instantly evokes nostalgia and excitement, it is one of the most iconic Naruto Shippuden openings, the fast tempo and energetic beat make it perfect for a ringtone as it instantly captures attention and is energizing to listen to.

I used to set an anime song as my ringtone back in the day... It was Uso by SID. It was the ending song of FMA: Brotherhood... Aside from anime, I was so into Visual Kei bands, Jrock/pop groups, too... Hahaha 😂🤣

I didn't answer the call until the first stanza ended... 😅😂

Hehe, a cruel question considering the fact that for a large part of the population, the ringing on the phone is a signal ending a short sleep and calling them to the collective farm xD. But let's assume I live in a perfect world...

I choose Pegasus Fantasy. Although I hate this anime due to the poor plot after season 1 and the disgusting (even for shounen) repetition. That said, Saint Seiya also has one of the best openings ever. The song is already several decades old, and yet I can only name a few songs that are equally good in every respect. It's hard to think of a better recommendation for any art form. Why did I choose him? For three reasons.

It's a cult anime that I know from my childhood, so even if it wakes me up a few times earlier than I would like, my negative associations will disappear quickly. And even if it were otherwise, since I don't like this anime, I won't listen to it very often. So a small loss, a win-win situation.

It's a dynamic song and starts with a bang, so it's perfect as an alarm clock that will wake up even the heaviest sleepyhead. I don't like dancing myself, but whenever I hear a popular or dynamic song, I start dancing. True, I do it in any way, but the most important thing is joy, right?

And as I said at the beginning, first of all, it's a very good song and it has everything that such a song should have. A singer with a charismatic voice, the chorus is loud enough, the atmosphere is just as good regardless of whether you know the anime or not.

One more aspect. Quite a lot of openings sound better in their shorter or longer versions, but in the case of Pegasus Fantasy, both are equally pleasant to listen to.

I noticed it was also being recommended. I'm actually surprised you still remembered the song even when you hate the anime, and that it's been years since this anime has been released, right? Your memory is just amazing.

Awww, I felt embarrassed :D. Yes, I have known this song for over 20 years. I didn't like anime since I was a teenager, but when I was 20-25 years old (when it was then) I wanted to catch up, but after watching 2 seasons, a few movies and checking with a few friends that the story pattern was always the same, I stopped watching. But music is awesome! I don't know if it's true, but I heard that the SS anime saved the manga from being canceled in Shounen Jump.
