Killing Giant Barbarian on Albion Online - Gaming Photography Weekly Contest
I've been contemplating what to participate in for this week's challenge in Gaming Photography Weekly Contest - Theme: Epic Battle Scene through my favorite game, Albion Online. As everyone knows, battles in Albion can be unfair due to high possibilities of surprises, assassins hunting easy prey, infamous "rats" waiting for you to tire from the previous battle and taking advantage of your low health, or even random events with powerful enemies.
I decided to capture some battle images against dungeon bosses. Although not as rewarding, you're rarely invaded by enemies. That is, if you only do solo dungeons, as others always have some surprises. Damn corruption.
This might be my daily cycle in Albion Online. I enter with my favorite character ThorfinnFinnthor and just let him rest in any pleasant environment with his skeletal horse. I love this skin in particular.
I didn't want something too long to post since our focus is on sharing screenshots. I focused only on the main points of the events. It might have been good to summarize the journey to the dungeon boss, but for those players, we know these dungeons vary between two to three floors, and unfortunately, this one had three floors. This would result in over 10 screenshots just for the path to the end.
Here I am reaching the final room. The structure resembles an ancient temple or a well-detailed cave, depending on your preference. Right from the start, three guards awaited me, a mage, and two knife throwers.
It wasn't a very difficult battle at first. I'm using the Badon Bow build, which has excellent area damage per second, along with rewarding me with versatile mobility. I can escape from melee combatants and reach my target in other situations. Although the downside is its high cooldown, needing time before it can be used again.
I thought about ignoring the three guards and moving on to the real battle, but soon realized they would only bother me, even if they couldn't kill me.
Finally, the dungeon boss! He was a barbarian with two axes, though he mostly used the second one for his throwing ability. This caused significant consecutive damage, combined with a speed decrease.
Fortunately, this time, I wasn't stubborn enough to create a random build just to be different. It seems that simplicity became effective in terms of attack and cost. Or maybe I'm just a great player who can master all weapon classes in the game.
In all honesty, I've been avoiding Gankers and fights—safety first.
The giant barbarian delivering a powerful blow to my head.
Captured the exact moment he was about to land a critical axe strike on me while I hit him with an arrow to the chest. The trail effect in blue particles is extravagant.
I appreciate how some shadow silhouettes in Albion are well-made, providing various perspectives in their design. This stands out compared to some 2D games that barely focus on conveying such details, merely adding a dark shade beneath objects in the scenery.
The final blow. As I stand triumphantly, recovering my health, you can see in the corner the giant chest awaiting me, though I didn't get my hopes up; rewards are rare lately.
I recently acquired some islands. Perhaps I'll bring more content in the form of farming and animal husbandry. I'm still exploring possibilities and considering the returns it might bring. And for you, what's the best thing to do in Albion Online? There are countless possibilities, right?
Very exciting game, I like watching you play this game, it looks like it's worth a try
I recommend you give it a try, there are so many possibilities and the lack of automatic mode is what sets it apart from other MMORPGS
