My Actifit Report Card: March 23 2025 | Saturdate and strolling around

Hello Hive worlds! I am Iris from Indonesia, an ordinary working mom with a soul of wanderer. Yesterday I got my day off so I took an impromptu trip to have a date with my hubby. Due to my work schedule we live in different cities, because if I stay in our apartment in Surabaya, no one can watch our son. So right now I am staying with my mom in Malang. Actually, it only takes about 2 hours to drive from Malang to Surabaya if we use highways. So usually, he comes to Malang every weekend.

However yesterday I went to Surabaya instead because we need to do some shopping and just want to spend quality time together. I preferred using public transportation because I don't really like driving cars in Surabaya since the traffic can be so bad. Also he worked on Saturday as well, so to make it easier, we just planned to meet somewhere near the first shop.

Public transportation in Surabaya is way better than Malang. There we had a city bus that connected all over the area easily. You can also collect points to pay the fare by collecting plastic bottles and exchanging them in the official recycling center.

Those buses only stop on the designated bus stops so we have to wait there to ride it. I still got plenty of time when I arrived at the bus stop, so I took a leisure walk around. I spent my single days navigating urban life here, so it was pretty nostalgic to just enjoy the view without a rush.

Once we met up, we did some shopping and running errands together while enjoying the city. Both of us preferred riding motorbikes at Surabaya, because using a car often makes us caught in traffic jams and lost time.

It was already dinner time when we were done, so we decided to have a korean barbeque for dinner. We visited a nice place near our apartment that offers a really good deal for the All You Can Eat package during Ramadan month. For only about 10$ you can have unlimited beef, chicken, and sausages to grill. Nice isn't it?

We went home to rest a bit after dinner and to organize our shopping haul and for me to take care of my home since I thought the last time I went back was about 1 month ago. The sky was clear though there were some fogs hanging but we still could see the moon. I really like the view from my apartment since we live pretty high up. I used to stay up late and take a break in our small veranda whenever I got a day off tomorrow. Something that became so precious now that we have a son to take care of.

After everything done, I took a city bus again to the central bus station to switch with transcity bus because I want to have a date with my little handsome guy. Sadly my hubby couldn't come because he got a lot of work to do on Sunday. Once we left the city center suddenly it rained and that how unpredictable the weather currently.
