My Actifit Report Card: April 10 2025| Under the blazing sun but let's go!

Actifit people. It's me Iris, from East Java, Indonesia. I just got much better today after this annoying cold took me down a few days ago. Maybe because yesterday I spent so much time under the high spirited tropical sun of Indonesia, so today no more runny nose only a little bit coughing.

Actually I want to rest yesterday but my working schedule didn't permit, so off I went to Sidoarjo, an industrial city that infamous by its hot and damp weather. Our biggest factory has its main headquarters there, and indeed it covers a very large area.

Yesterday we got news that some buyers relase the permission to ship from Indonesia to US after everything was putting on hold due to Tariff effect. So, I had to prepare in case of we got a green light as well. We couldn't ride our personal ride inside the facility, so mainly I have to walk from the main gate to the very back of the factory to reach the warehouse and loading area.

Never imagine that the sight of containers ready to load will bring so much joy to me lol. Even it wasn't our products, still it energized me to think that maybe things will go back to normal soon.

We were scheduled to check the finishing line after lunch, but oh boy the sun really showed off its power at noon. I didn't mind to walk under the sun, but I didn't enjoy getting sweaty at work because it was so uncomfortable. So I borrowed a factory bicycle to reach the finishing buildings. Didn't do much help and it was really awkward because I think the last time I ride a bike was when I went to college. Still, it was faster than walking which meant less time being roasted.

As a factory with its caliber, the finishing area is very organized and controlled, they have around 5 finishing line which were located in 3 different buildings. We wentvto check the quality of our products, and to prevent any major issue reach the packing area, because it was when everything became complicated.

Usually this much of works wouldn't make me tired but since I didn't do much during the holiday, my continuously runny nose, and the scorching heat, I was very drained by the time we are done.

To cheer me up, my coworkers took me to the canteen which was located outside the factory. We can see the paddy field that was owned by the locals from there. A very poluted stream separated the field with the small road to access the factory actually, but I was pretty satisfied to be able to enjoy the sights and a bowl of my favorite instant noodle.

However, the sky suddenly became cloudy in the afternoon and we got several lightings and loud thunders. Practically we are still in the end of rainy season and the rain in Sidoarjo can easily become a storm without warning because this city is located near the Java sea. So we hurriedly finished our task and went home, especially since I had to come home to a different city that will take me around 2-3 hours trip.
