Results of Contest #5
First of all, thanks to everyone who entered the contest.
@blkchn has shown great results and gets the first prize 🏆🎉🥂
A new user joined us; welcome, @iamchessguy! 🤝👍
We had only 4 participants with valid shares this time so the #5 prize, 50 HP delegation, is going to be shared between the winners: +20 HP for @blkchn and 10 HP for each other.
#1 @blkchn 12 + 4.2 + 8.3 + 1.5 + 5.7 = 31.7 -> 520 HP delegation
#2 @x-rain 7.9 + 0.7 + 0.6 = 9.2 -> 310 HP delegation
#3 @iamchessguy 1.3 + 0.8 + 1 + 0.7 + 0.6 = 4.4 -> 210 HP delegation
#4 @cryptoreforma 1.5 + 0.3 + 0.4 + 0.4 + 0.6 = 3.2 -> 110 HP delegation

To Join the Contest

Okay, I think I'm in this time. Let me know if I need to fix anything.
Thank you for joining! Great results! High bar for the rest!
You're welcome. Time to start on next week. 🙂
I don't understand the issue. Every submission I made had a link visible in the preview. Why were my submissions invalid? Can you please point out exactly what was wrong with them? I visited the groups with my posts in them, and the links are visible. Also, they are visible in my profile preview. Trying to understand the problem.
Everything I wanted to say, I already said there. I suggest ending this discussion. Waiting for your shares for contest #6.
No, sorry, you have not resolved this at all and you have not answered my question, I am clearly stating that I submitted all my posts WITH links included and so they should have been deemed as valid entries and you are not answering or clarifying as to why they were excluded from the contest, kindly explain why the five posts I submitted were erroneous.
You are dismissing the issues raised, not helping to resolve the issue by helping or identifying EXACTLY what was wrong with my submissions?
Please help me understand the issue here.
okay, hi x-rain, I know what the problem is now, been digging for hours to try and ascertain what the problem was and it is as follows, it appears that you have your post view settings on reddit set to compact and not the default reddit setting of card view; and in card view (the default setting) my links are clearly visible for every submission I made this week, as shown below:
whereas on compact view (which is not the default setting) my links do not show, as seen below:
so it appears that I have been excluded from the competition due to people having non-default view settings on reddit which led to this issue, I understand that you guys are still getting this process up and running so I am willing to forget about it this week even though I feed bad not being rewarded as I would have won the competition.
maybe to avoid this issue in future, state in the rules that the link must show in compact view mode or have the moderators check in both compact and card view mode to ensure links are present.
I am a bit gutted so I am going to take a break now, just wanted to let you know where the issue came from so that it doesn't lead to further confusion in future competitions.
all the best, mariah.
@acidyu @x-rain
I've been a bit behind on replying to @x-rain about some things posh, though I did agree to the point he made that the posts need to "make" the viewers on other pages check out the full article rather than share the main pics and content on reddit while including a link that then may not necessarily indulge users in opening it up.
I'll check soon what the default modes are you mentioned, I'm not sure if I've switched to any particular modes. Do you use phone mainly when sharing?
Don't be too upset about this competition thing, it's quite tiny in comparison to what we're rewarding the actual shares. For instance to get 60 hive which you've received here and there for some shares, you'd need to have a delegation of 800 hp for at least a year while actively curating. We're trying to reward everyone but have to make sure the program is working as efficiently as it can to actually bring traffic to our front-ends to encourage people to check out what we have here and take part. :)
Hi Acidyo,
It's just a confluence of things that really added to my getting frustrated.
I had three submissions that would have resulted in first place had the goalposts not moved or the entries were validated in the default reddit view mode (card) as opposed to compact view. Either way I don't want to fall out with the hive folks as I really do like posting content here, on the whole it's a great community, so let's forget the past and move forward positively.
I have a suggestion with regards to the impressions contest, to me a contest is where you set the rules and the best "man" wins whereas the "contest" seems to be what I would refer to as a "newcomers showcase" which I understand completely why you'd want to incentivise new users coming in, it's good for the ecosystem.
My suggestion would be as follows (and no hard feelings would come in to play if its not enacted, it's just a suggestion, nothing more:
Take the current rewards system and split it into two totals.
Then, have a weekly "Impressions Contest" where the best man wins regardless of when they started posting.
Also, have a weekly award titled "Newcomers Showcase" in which anyone new to the platform, say circa less than 3 months, can enter and also be rewarded, perhaps have a panel of judges or put it to community vote to ascertain the winners.
This way, you reward the most prolific long-term contributors while still incentivising newcomers to the ecosystem. The goalposts never need to shift, both sides feel fairly treated, and everyone wins.
I'll leave it at that for now, hope that it makes sense, and no offense at all will be taken regardless, it's just a suggestion.
All the best, Mariah.
Congratulations @x-rain! You have completed the following achievement on the Hive blockchain And have been rewarded with New badge(s)
Your next target is to reach 160000 upvotes.
You can view your badges on your board and compare yourself to others in the Ranking

I thought this project was already dead, it looks like they're doing everything manually this time. I hope it works out after all
I also hope it will grow bigger. But HivePOSH program already works well and brings traffic from web2 to Hive. For example, my recent share:
If you check the post I shared, you'll see it got 300+ views.
250 views, at least, came from Reddit. If Hive paid for these 250 clicks, it would cost not a few cents. Look at ChatGPT's answer:
Thank you very much for the delegation. 😀
And congrats to the other winners.

.hi guys, okay so I did a test post on reddit using both link and text methods as described in the new rules for the next contest and the link to hive on the reddit post only shows when the view mode on reddit is set to card, as seen in the following image, can the mods please confirm that they will validate/accept submissions in card view mode as this is the default view mode in reddit?
thanks!

Great to see new people in the contest! Everything is correct, thank you for joining!
Eheh i tried that after seeing @acidyo posts so got curious... I didn't even have a reddit account, made a new one for that😅
Maybe you can tell me what can I do with posh tokens? Like stake for something? Thank you
!PIZZA
You can buy them 😄 I managed to buy 2000 POSH for 20 HIVE recently, and I keep earning and holding it. If there was a clear answer why, POSH wouldn't cost that cheap anymore. There are active people with ambitions behind POSH, it's enough to me. This tactics already brought me profit: when holozing.com was opened, they paid $ZING for $POSH holders for a while.
It would be good if more people did the same.
By the way, you can share Hive posts of other people too, not only yours. The toughest thing is actually to find shareable posts. Most successful shares might bring you 5-10-30+ HIVE from Redditposh comments + a chance to win a delegation. 🙂
Oh I can share others, that's interesting, will be good for next context!
