Good afternoon, friends!
Welcome to another post in the Street Art community, for the CCC's Street Art Contest #178!
Today I want to share the work of a Brazilian artist who, since 2013, has decided to devote almost all of his creative time and attention to urban art.
His name is João Paulo Malara Capparelli, also known as Jota Aracê.
I came across this work on my recent visit to Torres Vedras. As I had arrived early for dinner with a friend, I decided to investigate the city a little, and although the days are much shorter at this time, I still had the opportunity and luck (it was chance that led me to this part of the city) to catch a glimpse of this colorful and realistic work of art. Located in a parking lot, and taking advantage of the wall of a building that adjoins the parking lot.
The artist has a predilection for combining the human element, always with a realistic line and lively, strongly contrasting colors, and its interaction and interconnection with animals... and more often with birds.
In this particular work, there is indeed a primary concern. The idea that is at the root of its name. Entitled "Roots of Tomorrow", his concern was to clearly and unequivocally convey his response to this concern.
In the world in which we live, we often connect much more with ephemeral things, or we don't connect as much with what surrounds us in the physical and immediate world. In issuing the challenge of reading, the artist also focuses on the importance of multiculturalism. Not only should we look at the national legacy, but we shouldn't just stop there.
The search for wisdom is in fact one of the greatest riches inherent in any spirit that sees itself as free and detached from other constraints.
In the world in which we live, I can say that the reality in my country is different in every way from the reality in so many places... Where children don't have the freedom to go to school, or the opportunity, or where they are even forbidden to learn (because of their gender), or where their schools have been razed to the ground by an air raid...
May 2024 be a year of knowledge. Darkness and ignorance only bring fear and foolishness. Let's be more observant, looking at what's around us. And if we think we can't make a huge change, maybe we need to focus on changing something as small as our attitude. Just that small change will have a huge impact on everyone around us and those we come into contact with.
Born in 1990 in Araraquara, started to develop interest for drawing since an early age. At the age of 14, he had a first experience with graffit and since then he started exploring the possibilities that the streets provides. Attended comunication in the university, worked as art director in a publicity agency, he always dreamed of working as street artist. Since 2013, he exclusively dedicated in his own work, giving a major importance in brazilian roots. His work flows between portraits, nature's elements and the language of the streets, creating an unique atmosphere, trying to transmit a message that we should look to the nature with more attention and give a greater importance to our roots.

But I'm not a bird expert by any means!
I hope you enjoyed another fantastic piece of work!

Hello, @jlufer !
I'm having a pretty busy days at work... But nothing that I don't see the light in the end of the tunnel. I hope that by the end of the next week things would be much more calm... Till there, I have to be a little off the grid in Hive, and in visiting great posts from all users, including yours.
Thank you so much for your appreciation! I think the research that I've made might help someone, that wants to learn a little bit more about the rest of the portfolio and more about the artist can have a starting point ;)

Beautiful mural with the realistic portrait and the geometric elements. I don't know all these books, especially with their titles in Portuguese 🤔 Thanks for sharing these pics and info on The StreetArt Community.
