CCC's Street Art Contest #194 "Paz no Mundo" - Pablo Machioli, Quinta do Mocho, Lisboa, Portugal

Hello everyone!

Welcome to another post in the Street Art community!

World Peace... Perhaps a destiny, a wish impossible to achieve... But it's a vision/dream shared by Pablo Machioli. A Uruguayan artist born in 1976, he emigrated to the United States in 2003 and began his career as an artist in 2012. Self-taught since always, his artye is seen as his own language, which helps him to express himself and on which he learns about his surroundings, interconnects them and gives back to the world something he has created. At the moment, Pablo isn't just developing a current or a style or theme, but is interested in his wilder side, passionate to the max about everything he can, and materializing his own vision, giving it back to the world and to those who transform it from the inside.

And now I'm going to tell you a bit about the work of art itself. From the height of a four-storey building in a condominium which, as you can appreciate, is not one of the most desirable to live in, this work of art rises before our eyes. A bird, a dove, with upturned wings looks us in the eye and challenges us to accept the challenge. Strange that the cohabitation of peoples and their coexistence never has any respect for those on the other side... A total ignorance of the will of others, and of respect for others, leads to a world that only knows how to listen to the voice of the most interventionist. Unfortunately, the global movement is doing everything it can to ensure that a (dormant) peace can only be established by reinforcing armaments so that people can defend themselves, regardless of the support of others. This painting, battered by the weather and external conditions, has seen better days, but in a way it's a good reflection on the times we'll soon be facing... A peace that stands out, that leaves deep marks when it is forcibly taken away from people.

The colors, now faded, of the bird's feathers, always leave a desire to revive them in the future...

Very beautiful mural and the peeling paint gives the plumage an almost 3d look. Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.
