The guide to use of the #contests tag requires you to use the #contests tag only when you are promoting a contest.

That means when you are participating in a contest, there must be some reference to the contest itself so that your readers know you are participating in that contest. This is usually done by providing a clickable link to the contest, and inviting your readers to participate in it, if they wish to do so.

If you don't do so, Hivelist community members would not vote your post and worst still you can be downvoted by them.
