Fangs of Darkness

Hey there! Good evening or good morning, depending on where you are!

Today I'll show u my entry for the Rada Quest Art Contest 4th Edition 🎨

For thousands of decades, all the darkness dwelling in this forest has been absorbed by some flowers that were once very beautiful in their time but now if you're lost in the forest and come across one of these majestic species, run because at any moment it could open up and tear you apart without any mercy.

Its darkness is so intense that it envelops you in a world of hallucinations with your worst nightmares, and it can do this hundreds of meters away from where you are, all to lure you to it and turn you into its dinner.

Be careful as you venture into the depths of the dark forest.

✨✨✨

Here are some pics of the process

1.jpg

I've made humanoid flowers before, so to speak, but this one is special because none of them had more than one girl, so, well, a bit more work than usual. The first thing was to find the position where each of them would go, I didn't make a sketch with lines, this was my sketch, I have several flower drawings, I took the petals to help me have a reference of the size and transformed them.

-.-

There were some things left to finish 'cause, you know, after messing around with it so much, this drawing took me a couple days 'cause of a few things, plus it was kinda tricky. In this one, I did get a bit more into the grays 'cause I wanted to see if what I was doing wasn't too shabby and could keep on with the work.

-.-

After all that time, the moment for some color finally arrived, just for a base, ya know? Since I'd worked more in gray I placed the colors with overlay, but not too strong so they wouldn't look too dark, ya know? Can't go overboard with that, hahaha. For the background, I didn't do much, just borrowed one I'd already made before, there wasn't much to show there anyway.

-.-

Almost all the bodies were worked on, though the main one I left for last. I didn't do anything on it until now. Well, I did, adding hair like the girl from "The Ring," it's cute. There were many things ahead, but there were others missing that were indispensable.

As I progressed, I detailed things better, and if I didn't like something, I changed it, like the face, as I had only made an idea, but when I went to do them one by one, I added other things.

-.-

✨✨✨

I wanted the petals to be like huge tongues, ya know, since it's kinda like a flower/carnivorous plant, that would be part of the jaws, actually it would have teeth all over. I made a video of this drawing and seeing how I did the teeth is better than doing it ahaha, faster.

Finally, what had been missing for steps before, The main girl, there were some or many improvements on her. by the way, did I want to make the girls somewhat deformed and monstrous?, something like that to give it a creepier touch.

-.-

Heading towards the end, there were some things left to do besides detailing a lot of others. After making an adjustment on many of them, color adjustments, lighting, and stuff, my little flower was ready.

-.-

Thank you very much for taking the time to view my work.

the fucckkk this is so cool and scary! Those details are so good. Also it always amazes me to see a black and white sketch then overlayed with colors. I have yet to try it haha but I don't know, when I do it it always look wrong lol.

The creepiest for me was the petals with teeth haha

Hahahah, a little thanksssss! I'm glad you liked it! Ohhh Yeass overlaying colors can be tricky, but it's also a lot of fun to see how it transforms the piece. Although I don't master it very well either, but I'm learning little by little haaha, when I do it I don't try to get the exact colors but a soft base that I will modify, just keep trying dear I'm sure it'll turn out great!

Yes I wanted them to be like tongues but I couldn't do it hahahπŸ˜…

Absolutely stunning, you surprised me a lot!

A dark work with a lot of movement and terror in each of the figures. The faces give a lot of horror! Very well done!❀️
