Hello Hiivers...

This is my post for the PhotoFeed Contest - Landscape Photography Round 90 held by @Photofeed, the photo I share is a stunning contrast of nature, a dried up river and shady trees. I took this photo while visiting a natural tourist location in the interior of Padang Tiji sub-district, Pidie Regency, Aceh, Indonesia.

Drying up river banks is often a striking natural phenomenon, demonstrating the impacts of climate change and human activity. When airflow diminishes, the remaining landscape can be surprising—previously suburban land is now exposed, while the surrounding shade trees remain.

The shade of trees along a riverbank provides a uniquely beautiful setting. The dense green leaves create cool shade, providing shelter for a variety of animal and bird species. Even when the river has dried up, the roots of the trees remain strong, holding the soil together and preventing erosion. In this sense, trees are not only symbols of resilience, but also vital parts of the ecosystem.

However, drying up rivers also brings challenges. The loss of airflow impacts the habitat of animals that depend on the river for life. In addition, soil quality can decline, affecting the growth of nearby plants. These changes demand our attention to preserving and conserving air resources, as well as caring for the trees that act as natural conservators.

The combination of a drying up river and shade trees creates a thought-provoking image of the importance of maintaining the balance of nature. Each element, from the watercourse to the trees, has a unique role to play in preserving the environment. Through collective awareness and action, we can contribute to preventing environmental crises.
