Contest #169 Our New Year's Strategies to be efficient with the family budget
Hello friends of Ladies of Hive, I am pleased to participate this week in another contest, where we will address a very important topic such as the January budget. Considering that we come from an end of the year where it is common that there are expenses for the Christmas celebration and when you have children this expense increases, however, we must as far as possible to leave a backup for the month of January, because this is a month where we feel that instead of 30 days, it has more than 80 🤣.
In my particular case, these last few years, after my country suffered a devastating economic crisis for many, and in order to continue with the Christmas celebration, I try to organize the last quarter of the year to cover the expenses that I can pay in time, because I know that with my family income it would not be possible.
For example, in October I can buy something related to Christmas decorations, and go ahead with the shoes for my two youngest children, since we bought some for Christmas and others for New Year, then in October I try to solve the issue of shoes, then the first fortnight of November I buy as much as I can afford some clothes, since on November 30 is the birthday of one of my children and in what is the cake and a simple outing goes all my salary.
Entering the first fortnight of December I buy everything I am missing of clothes. Before the 24th we have to spend the Christmas gifts and the Christmas dinner.
And then in the fortnight of the 30th we have the New Year's dinner, where we make hallacas, pernil, cake and we focus more on the food than on anything else.

Besides, we always don't manage to buy the paint, pay the utilities, the daily food and all those expenses that are fixed, plus some repairs in the house, which never fail.
The truth is that I don't know how we do so much with so little, since our Christmas bonuses are paid in installments and that is not enough for anything. This year I solved some expenses not related to Christmas, asking for a loan from @ruta.loans, luckily my husband is very responsible with the children and the expenses of the house and between the two of us we can magically be solvent with the commitments.
To have a plan for my specific and not to spend is to list the priorities mentioned above and go on each outing focused on solving them, there will always be something that comes up and we are tempted to buy, I know because I am a compulsive shopper, but mentalizing myself in prioritizing commitments has helped me to be more efficient when buying and go solving the scheduled.

January for me is an economically compromised month because in addition to the expenses of December, the first half of January is my birthday and even with a cake I celebrate it and there goes my fortnight and even more and the second half of January is my eldest son's birthday and the same thing happens, so my rest could be already in February, so my planning for December already comes with January and birthdays included as two months of expenses.
And as for charitable donations, year after year I do deep cleanings in my house, where I take the opportunity to remove clothes, shoes and toys of my children that they don't use, either because they no longer fit or because technology makes them forget about toys, I also take the opportunity to take out non-perishable food and donate it to a friend who is part of the foundation voluntad sin límites, which is responsible for serving children in street situations and so we can share with other children who are in need.

This foundation does good social work and every time I can I give my contribution, and it is not that I have too much, but with the little we have we help who we can, as well as with the things that my children no longer use or that I no longer have left and through this foundation can help other children in need.
Well, friends, that's all for the moment, thanks for reading and I'll see you next week.

And with high inflation these days I'm sure it gets more difficult to plan your expenses ahead of time and make every Bolivar count. With the high taxes on my home I have to begin saving almost as soon as after I pay my last taxes. Planning ahead our expenses saves me from looking for Credit at the last moment, giving me time to make changes and choices.

Yes, my friend, it is difficult to plan our expenses, especially when we want to fix our house and end up frustrated when we see that everything is spent on food. I do have a colleague in that foundation, she is a great person, always willing to help and as soon as I can I also make my contribution.

Making ends meet in today's world is not easy no matter where home is. I am sorry your country is in such economic upheaval. That doesn't help you to make ends meet. It sounds like you work diligently to make ends meet. Thank you for sharing and may God bless your efforts and your home! Take care!
Thank you friend, the truth is that the situation has improved compared to some years ago, however we have not yet recovered the purchasing power, and wages are still on the floor and prices are sky high, so we do magic to solve, but with the hope that everything will improve.
Blessings to you! Take care!🤗💜
Hello my friend, I understand you when you say that the country's crisis often suffocates us, and I congratulate you because despite that, you know how to organize yourself very well, in terms of all the expenses you have at home. Well done.👍
I do magic, my friend, that is part of the essence of Venezuelans, to be resourceful even in the most difficult moments.
