I don't remember the exact dates, much less did I think it would happen, but I can tell you that it's proof that words have power, and that's why what we say should be to decree something good, something positive. I'll never forget a phrase a client told me last year:

Many of you know that at the end of my posts, in the source where the credits are, I always give credit to my Redmi 7A phone. That phone belonged to my father, and he later gave it to me. I took great care of it and used it for quite a while—for years!—but the poor phone was already saturated, and no amount of resetting and deleting apps would keep it going.

I would visit stores and visualize which phone was best for me. I would ask around, friends would give me recommendations, and I wouldn't buy it for two reasons: one, because I couldn't afford it, and two, because I still didn't know which one was right for me.

I want a new phone, I want a new phone, I repeated in my mind, and sometimes out loud in conversations. Sometimes I didn't say anything, but my close friends would also tell me: Yen, you should change your phone already; that one you have is already asking for forgiveness.

As it turns out, one day, I don't remember the exact date @florecitamejias posted on her WhatsApp status that she was raffling off a brand new phone for Christmas. I didn't see what lottery it was or the time of the drawing, but I told her:

I remember paying her 3 HBD through my Wallet, I promoted her raffle a lot to help her, then I forgot about it, days went by, and one December 21st I was cleaning and organizing and she suddenly called me and I greeted her normally, honestly I didn't even remember, and she said something like:

Well, yes, I didn't remember. I won. The number I asked for came up, and I was screaming and jumping excitedly. Poor Flore. She urgently needed the information, and I was screaming. Since it was the weekend and Christmas, the order would arrive later, on a Wednesday or Thursday, December 26th, something like that. It arrived directly and perfectly. It was my best Christmas present.

No me acuerdo con exactitud de las fechas, menos pensé yo que realmente pasaría, pero les puedo decir que es una prueba de que la palabra tiene poder y es por ello que lo que decimos debe ser para decretar algo bueno, positivo, no se me olvida una frase que me dijo una clienta el año pasado:

La queja trae pobreza

La gratitud atrae prosperidad.

Muchos de ustedes saben con propiedad que siempre al final de mis publicaciones, en la fuente dónde están los créditos siempre le di mérito a mi teléfono Redmi 7A, ése teléfono era de mi padre y luego me lo dió, yo lo cuidé muchísimo y lo usé bastante tiempo, ¡Años! pero ya el pobre teléfono estaba saturado y por mas que lo reseteara y borrara aplicaciones no daba para mas.

Visitaba tiendas y visualizaba que télefono era mejor para mí, preguntaba, amigos me daban recomendaciones y no lo compraba por dos motivos, uno porque economicamente no me alcanzaba para adquirirlo y dos porque todavía no sabía cuál era el indicado.

Yo quiero un teléfono nuevo, quiero un teléfono nuevo, repetía en mi mente y a veces en voz alta en alguna conversa, a veces no decía nada pero mi gente cercana me decían también: Yen, ya deberías cambiar de teléfono, ése que tienes ya está pidiendo perdón.

¡Cómo si fuera tan fácil!

Bueno, realmente es cuestión de proponérselo, porque cuando quieres algo buscas la manera, ahorras, inviertes, buscas la manera y logras lo que te propongas, yo no ahorré ni invertí, pero si estaba clara que debía hacer algo, pero lo dejé así y pensé: ya el tiempo me ayudará.

Resulta que un día x, no recuerdo que fecha con exactitud @florecitamejias colocó en su estado de Whassapt que rifaba un teléfono nuevecito para las fechas de navidad, yo ni vi que lotería era ni la hora pero le comenté:

Ok ése teléfono se viene para Charallave, es mío

Recuerdo le pagué 3 HBD a través de mi Wallet, promocioné mucho su rifa para ayudarla, luego se me olvidó el tema, pasaron los días y, un buen 21 de diciembre estaba limpiando y organizando y ella de repente me llama y yo la saludo normalito, sinceramente ni me acordaba y me dijo algo así como:

Yen, dame tus datos, dirección porque te voy a enviar el teléfono.

¿El teléfono? ¿Qué teléfono muchacha? ¡El teléfono! ¿Por qué que pasó?

Pues sí, ni me acordaba, me lo gané, salió el número que le pedí y yo pegando gritos y brincando de emoción, pobre Flore, ella necesitaba urgente los datos y yo gritando, por ser fin de semana y navidad el pedido llegaría día miércoles o jueves 26 de diciembre, algo así, directo y perfecto llegó, mi mejor regalo de navidad.

Así que gracias a una dama de #hive me gané un excelente móvil en el cual he descargado ya varias aplicaciones, según mis conocidos dicen que es una tremenda maquina con una memoria inmensa que puede guardar de todo, todavía estoy aprendiendo, así que ¡Gracias mi Flore!

Well, this is an interesting question. I've always been an illustrator; when I pick up a pencil, it's to draw. Since I was little, I've thoroughly enjoyed drawing on paper, drawing dolls, which I later learned over the years was called fashion illustration.

Now, I love good movies and good books too. If I had to choose, I'd definitely prefer a book. Why? Because the feeling of reading and mentally visualizing each written dialogue, whether it's drama, suspense, science fiction, or magical realism, is priceless.

In my house, years ago, it was customary to buy the newspaper every weekend, so I would wait for my parents to read it before going myself. First, I would look for the comics section and then any cartoon or advertising article, regardless of the topic: social sciences, politics, economics... it didn't matter; If there was a cartoon, it inspired me to create.

As for reading, I read everything, but I want to be hooked. When that happens, I don't stop. I try to get all my tasks done quickly if I'm at home. If I'm at work, I take advantage of every free minute, and after work. Even when I'm running errands and know I'm going to be late for something, I take my book with me.

I confess that I've been somewhat drawn to the screen lately, but if I had to choose, I'd choose books a thousand times over!

1️⃣ ¿Eres una «persona de libros» o una «persona de películas»? Comparte por qué prefieres la que eliges. Si no eres ni lo uno ni lo otro, ¿Qué persona eres para tus ratos de entretenimiento?

Pués fíjate que interesante ésta pregunta, yo siempre he sido una persona que dibuja, que agarra un lápiz es para dibujar, disfruto enormemente desde pequeña garabatear en papel, muñequitas que luego con los años me enteré que eso se llamaba ilustración de modas.

Ahora bien, me encanta una buena película y también gozo con un buen libro, ahora si me pones a escoger prefiero mil veces el libro, ¿Por qué? porque la sensación que percibes al leer y visualizar en tu mente cada diálogo escrito sea de drama, suspenso, ciencia ficción o realismo mágico no tiene precio.

En mi casa había la costumbre años atrás comprar la prensa todos los fines de semana, así que yo esperaba que mis padres lo leyeran para luego agarrarlo yo, primero buscaba la sección de comiquitas y luego para buscar cualquier dibujo de publicidad o algún artículo independientemente del tema: Sociales, política, economía... no importa, si había algun dibujo yo me inspiraba para crear.

En cuanto a la lectura, leo de todo, pero eso sí, que me atrape, cuando eso pasa no me despego, trato de hacer todos mis oficios rápidos si estoy en casa, si estoy en el trabajo aprovecho cada minuto libre o luego de la jornada laboral, incluso hasta cuando salgo a diligencias y sé que me voy a tardar en algo me llevo mi libro.

Confieso que la pantalla últimamente me ha atrapado un poco pero si me ponen a elegir me quedo con mis páginas mil veces!
