Loh169~ staying on track with my finances
Clasping my phone, going through feeds on my social media handle my phone beeps, thought it was one of those needless notifications angrily going to delete and then bum it was my earnings, suddenly I developed a merry feeling in my heart that transferred to my head resulting in my cheeks to start folding to develop a smile because closing from the office saw a beautiful gown that I've imagined myself in already, suddenly remembered the gown wasn't part of the plans then my smile was slashed short, I've allotted the money to different categories that will sustain me for a period, turned to a motivational speaker asking myself questions like " is my sustenance worth more than the dress" perhaps getting the gown won't make me go broke like broke. What do I do now?
Once you're an adult and a graduate in my nation you're accountable for your finances and know what that means no full support from your parents, That's where staying on a budget comes into play, I know it can be hard but it is do-able if there is any word like that, it takes self-discipline to stay on budget and determination.
Budget is an instrument that tells our money the direction to go. It means staying on track with your income and expenditures.
My first tactic is the budgeting mindset, I'll have to understand why it's necessary, and my reasons for doing it, once I develop this mindset it makes everything easy, anytime I want to fall back the thoughts of achieving my goals come into play and the reason behind what I'm doing envelopes me, I'll immediately reactivate myself and continue in my right mind.
Secondly, I always plan ahead of time, so when the money comes I already have my plans listed out it wouldn't be difficult for me cause I know the necessities. So I have three bank accounts It is plenty right but I make use of all When my monthly pay comes I allocate money to each of them cause they have different functions, one is for my monthly savings where I send some percentage of my salary to, then the second one is for an emergency, I can't tell when the need would arise, the last one is for my expenditures, I use it to run my day to day activities. To avoid unnecessary spending I deactivated my other debit cards and made use of one, and that one has been serving me very well.
This has helped me stay on track with my finances, I've faced some challenges along the line but I still try to keep track of every penny that leaves my pocket.
