BeerSaturday ~ Varvar Caramba! Mango

Happy Saturday, guys!

It's a rare day when my husband is at home on Saturday, kind of a day off. And we both are not busy. So we decided to go out and get together with our good friend.

The guys agreed to meet at the Lisopylka brewery and bar, where we used to drink beer very often. A great opportunity to write my first #BeerSaturday post. 🍺😉

I haven't been here for ages. Not much has changed here, and I like that. They brew craft beer under the Varvar brand. This brand is well known in Ukraine.

They brew classic beer like Stout and Ale but you can always find something new. As a craft brewery, they can experiment with ingredients by producing limited and seasonal sorts of beer.

Their menu has changed since I last was there. Truth to be said, it was ages ago. They don't have Dry Stout anymore, but still have Milk Stout, Golden Ale and Blanche...

Today Varvar Caramba! Mango caught my attention, mostly because its ABV 3.3%. They promised a light, tropical and very refreshing taste.

We had a hell hot couples of weeks before, but today was quite comfortable +30. But I know from experience that rare meetings with friends last late, so it's better to choose a light beer. And a small glass - 0.33.

The first refreshing, cool sip and I knew this Caramba Mango is my favorite for today.

I must note that it has nothing to do with "fruit beer", which is so abundant in supermarkets. No intrusive sweetness, only a slender mango aftertaste, like a hint, and a light bitterness. A super-light session APA on Quake yeast.

I asked about mango taste and found out that they really add with mango puree.

Recommended with light food, Asian seafood snacks, sushi.

We arrived before 4pm, quite early as for the beer bar. There were a very few people, our friend was on the way, so I could look around and took photos.

The name of the esteblishments means a Sawmill. I remember the times when visitors could sit in one medium-sized hall and on the summer terrace. Now the terrace has expanded and has two zones - with a roof and outdoor.

A novelty is a tennis table for visitors. Two people were playing, looking like father and son. While my hubby is just relaxing in the wooden but surprisingly comfortable chair.

Why not? Good idea!

The cat also looks familiar. He is watching a tired bee sitting on the ground.

Our friend also wanted to try a new flavor and ordered the same beer. He liked it too.

We talked and talked...so much to share and discuss. Good times, bad times. But this is a kind of meeting when your soul is relaxing.

Before we left, I wanted to taste something else. Nick picked up Milk Stout (I better did the same!), and Max selected another experimantal beer - Captain Salt. It was my choice actually, but he read the description and said that it's all marketing bullshit.
"Rustle of sand of unexplored islands... old sea wolf with a pipe... personal sea in a glass."

So I changed my mind and ordered Golden Ale. However, he changed his mind too and ordered Captain Salt. 😅
