Hey everyone, I am @theofficialmide and it’s a privilege to be here l again. This is my entry for Hive open mic Week 212 and the theme for this week is

Power

Music has always been a transformative force in my life. It’s a universal language that speaks to the soul, transcends barriers, and brings people together. Today, I want to share with you a piece of my heart, a performance that is more than just a cover; it’s a story of empowerment, resilience, and the indomitable human spirit.

I chose Katy Perry’s “Roar” for this performance because it’s a song that has always resonated with me on a personal level. The lyrics speak of breaking free from the chains of silence, of finding one’s voice and using it to declare one’s presence in the world. It’s about standing up after a fall, dusting oneself off, and facing the challenges head-on with a fierce determination.
The journey to this performance was not an easy one. It took countless hours of practice, moments of self-doubt, and the courage to step out of my comfort zone. But every step was worth it because, with each note I sang, I felt a stronger connection to the message of the song.

As I stood before the microphone, the opening chords of “Roar” began to play, and I closed my eyes for a brief moment. I took a deep breath and let the music flow through me. When I opened my eyes, I wasn’t just singing a song; I was telling my story.
