И вновь я обращаюсь к зоопарку в Свято-Преображенском монастыре в городе Муроме.	And again I turn to the zoo in the Holy Transfiguration Monastery in the city of Murom.
В одном из вольеров там проживают куры породы Брама (палевая).	In one of the enclosures there live Brahma chickens (fawn).
Первым делом можно было полюбоваться красавцем петухом.	First of all, you could admire the handsome rooster.

Брама палевая – мясная порода, так как куры быстро набирают вес и вырастают довольно крупными.	Fawn Brahma is a meat breed, since the chickens quickly gain weight and grow quite large.
Селекционеры утверждают, что выведена эта порода была в США из трёх пар гигантских кур, привезённых из Индии в 1846 году. Вес палевых петухов доходил до 7-8 кг.	Breeders claim that this breed was bred in the USA from three pairs of giant chickens brought from India in 1846. The weight of fawn roosters reached 7-8 kg.
Позже после скрещивания палевой Брамы с Кохинхинами заводчики стали использовать эту породу в качестве выставочной.	Later, after crossing fawn Brahma with Cochins, breeders began to use this breed as an exhibition breed.

В России в сельском хозяйстве чаще встречаются светлые и тёмные Брамы. А палевые использовались для сохранения генофонда и в декоративных целях.	In Russia, light and dark Brahmas are more common in agriculture. And the fawn ones were used to preserve the gene pool and for decorative purposes.
Петух, которого можно было рассмотреть подробнее, действительно, очень красив.	The rooster, which could be examined in more detail, is indeed very handsome.
