#SMaP Show Me A Photo Contest Round 201

Hello and happy New Year to all in #hive world.

2025 started with a bang beginning with a wonderful party with my family and friends at the farm. I actually made it until midnight, first time in a few years that I saw the ball fall in NYC,( on the TV,) as we counted down to the beginning of a brand-new year.

Fingers crossed, with hope in my heart, this will be a banter year.

Our friend @nelinoeva is at it again, grabbing our attention for the #featheredfriends community contest #smap.

This week we have a free theme, if it's got feathers, snap a few pictures and join the fun.

It's winter here in Upstate New York and it's been a white wonderland for weeks now. The lake effect snow storms have been heavier this year with snowfall every night, dropping anywhere from 1 inch to 6 inches. The temperature drops into the single digits most nights, sometimes below zero.

Of all the birds that stick around in the north during the cold months, my favorite is the Northern Cardinal, they don't seem to mind the cold.

I must admit, I shovel my front porch each morning and put out seed to bring in the bird activity.

Besides the cardinals, black capped chickadees and bluejays join in, enjoying the breakfast I serve.

Happy New Year to you also Miss @nelinoeva. It's been busy lately with the Holidays, grandkids sports and birthdays, we've been traveling back and forth from the farm to the kids places to enjoy the new year and all the rest of the activity that comes with having a large family. We love it.

Thanks for all you do for the community, you are amazing.

Hello there, my friend, it's been a while I know but with the size of my family, it seems we are always on the go. Christmas, birthdays, ballgames, phew! never a dull moment.
Hope you and Marian are well and happy, glad you liked that beautiful Cardinal, he really was stunning against the pure snow.

Sorry for the belated reply, as I am struggling with a problem on my pc. Everything is stretched, and we are trying to fix it.
We know that you have a lot to do Lady Robin and thank you for popping in occasionally. Thank you and your man also for all of the upvotes and the support all this time.

We are fine thanks, and you are right, that Cardinal is certainly a great show in the white of the snow.

Good afternoon my friend, hope you are well and happy.

It's been a snowy and brutal winter so far. The lake effect snow has been relentless. Temps have been single digit at night and now they're forecasting below zero for the next few days, yuck!

Good news is that I have been cleaning out drawers and closets since I can't stay outside for more than a few minutes, these old bones can't take it.

I love that you feed the birds. Winter can be tough sometimes and here in western, New York we can get a lot of snow too. Love the Cardinal photos.

Happy New Year @sunscape, those beautiful red birds look so wonderful in the snow. We like to keep seed out throughout the winter months for those brave little birds that stick it out in the cold.

Yes, I image you have had a bunch of snow also. I enjoy the snow for a while but then we escape and go to Florida. Heading out for the month of March this year.
