GENOTYPE COMPATIBILITY

Today on air at work I brought up this story of a guy who met this girl when he was in secondary school and they both started dating even after their university education they were still together and they agreed to be independent before getting married, after some years they were able to assess themselves as stable and decided to get married. Both families were happy that finally their years of being together finally paid off, now they're getting married, but then there was a problem and that problem is their genotype.

The man is AS and the woman is AS, now what do you expect the couples to do, should they go ahead with the wedding or not. My sincere answer is….. before I give my answer I'll would like to say I'm not just giving that answer but I'll give reasons to back up my answer. So my sincere answer is

NO

They should not get married, I'm saying so because:

*There is a high probability that all their children are going to be SS
*The children might not even live long. ( In some cases which is kinda rare sickle cell patients live to an old age)
*The emotional torture both on the parents side and the child's part due to pains.
*The financial requirements to keep up with a sickle cell patient is not a joke at all so it might drain them financially.

You might say it's painful I understand, but please if you are not thinking about yourself please think about the children you are to bring into this world that did not ask for it 🙏. Recently I think that's in June one of my coursemates died and her death shook the faculty. We found out that she was SS and all her siblings were gone, leaving her and finally she joined them😭 they were all of SS genotype. So you see why I would say my answer is

NO

I watched one video a long time ago where the man was advising singles and he said the first thing to ask about on your first date when a man has confessed his feelings towards you is to ask about your genotype, not beating around the bush, and that's exactly what I did. I think I have said this in one of my posts about me having a male friend and he decided it's time we take it to another level, when I agreed the first thing I asked him was “ what is your genotype” he couldn't give me a reply because he hasn't checked and he asked me a question “ what if when I check and we are not compatible what will you do?”

I replied I'm going to end this relationship, mind you that was not an easy decision to take. He hadn't checked at that time but I was praying earnestly that it turns out good. We all know it's painful to let go of someone you love but I refused to be a selfish mother. Now it's all sorted out 😀 we are ok and compatible 🤗😂. So before you go into that relationship or marriage please check for your genotype and even rhesus factor if possible, not necessarily because of you but for your generation unborn.
See you tomorrow. Same time, same account, same writer.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. See you soon. 🤗

PEACE OUT ✌️

Children should not suffer because of the ignorance and stubborn head if their parents.

Like I would always say it's not about you the parents it's about the children whom you are bringing into this world who didn't beg to be here.

It would be painful to let go of a relationship but it would be more painful in the future when you both start paying for your selfishness 😃

Genotype compatibility is a must and shouldn't be taken for granted.
