Why wait!

Welcome once again to my blog,
Today we are talking about procrastination, immediately I glanced at this prompt I smiled because I have a lot to write about "Procrastination"

My personal view.

Procrastination is that attitude of allowing tasks to pile up with the mindset of I will do them later, procrastination can prevent someone from achieving important goals in life, in fact I know that some people lost some good opportunities because they would always procrastinate, to achieve important goals in life one must be on his toes to grab any available opportunities, set daily goals and meet up with them.

I detest to here I will go next week I will check on it when I have time that word Will can mean anytime, and I view it as procrastinating; I love to hear and see people act immediately they hear of something that will benefit them.

I detest procrastinating of any sort, but unfortunately, sometimes I become a victim of procrastinating when it comes to performing some house chores, especially washing my bathroom and arranging my clothes after laundry.

I fixed the washing of my bathroom on Sat mornings before going out for the ministry but some Saturdays I will tell myself "I will wash it when I come home" Funny enough when am back I will be tired that I can't do any single chores, so I will push it to Sunday, it will now add up to Sundays chores and give me much work to do, sometimes it will be much that I won't be able to finish them, I will move some to Monday.

The reason why I hate procrastinating about things I need to do at a particular time is that it disorganizes my schedule and deprives me of achieving my weekly goal; once my daily goal is affected, it will affect my weekly schedule and also affect my monthly goals if care is not taken.

Currently how I manage procrastination

Last week I did my laundry and I told myself that I would not push the arranging of those clothes to another day, so I decided to pour them on my bed because that would mean that if I didn't arrange them I would not sleep on the bed, that made it easier for me, and henceforth that is how I would be managing that aspect of pushing chores to the next day.
Washing my bathroom, I now wash it anytime I feel dirty, which means that I wash it more often than before, which is better than keeping it on a particular day when I might not meet up, and it becomes an added responsibility.

Secondly, I keep away anything that will distract my attention when I want to do those chores, personally, my phone is a form of distraction whenever I want to do some house chores, so to avoid distractions I will silence the notifications so that I won't be tempted to reply any message that might prevent me from finishing up my task.

I also keep something I love, maybe a chilled wine, that's my reward, Immediately, I am done with my chores, and I will focus and finish up so that I can reward myself.

The same thing I do when I reach a financial goal, I always reward myself for achieving that goal, I reward myself before starting another goal, I will take sometime to rest and get set for the next goal.
The most important tip that helps in fighting procrastination is self-discipline, self-determination, and self-control; those qualities are essential to do away with procrastination.

Procrastination is dangerous.

It's nice to know you have your things well organized and always try as much as possible to follow them to the end. I on the other hand, usually have goals daily because of course like you said procrastination depress you of the rest you deserve and always end up making you have a pile of work to do, but as much as I try to, I always end up returning along the line.

I have had issues with keeping a pile of clothes for a week because of procrastination and I understood the effect because the clothes ended up looking plenty and I had to wash them all, but anytime I tell myself, I will wash them daily, I never work to the end.

I am happy you got yours well organized

You will have to use extra time for those chores you left behind that's one thing about procrastinating

Procrastination is indeed an enemy to man . And your approach on rewarding yourself after every task done is cool because it encourages one.

Procrastination is so dangerous, about arranging the laundry that style might not work for me ooo because I will just push them to a Conner and have a good sleep. Pushing tasks to further time makes us to be so tired and in most cases so overwhelmed by other things as they will incroach into the time for other tasks too.

Am glad you are overcoming gradually, please do reserve the wine for me too as I am working on myself too

Hahahahah hahahahah maybe because you have a very big bed or you can sleep on a very little space, I will not feel comfortable with the clothes on the bed.

One of the methods of fighting procrastination that works all the time is taking away distractions, as long as you are focused you will get the job done.
