When happiness feels far away

It's okay to be sad, it's okay to cry, sometimes happiness needs to feel far away for us to truly comprehend life. No one is truly happy, and no one is entirely sad. There's a reason for both, and we need the two to be wise in life, because the two moments teach us two different things. Sad moments teach us that happiness is not constant, and happy moments teach us that sad moments are neither constant and the two are inevitable, they come and go, and for different reasons.

Sadness is an appearance of being sorrowful; often as a result of failure, depressing news, failed expectations, etc. No one is comfortable with sadness, not even myself. Everyone always expects to encounter happiness. We desire a life filled with good moments, great memories, smooth and enjoyable, but unfortunately, life has a different story to our expectations and I've learned to enjoy both moments, but not comfortably.

Do I allow myself feel sad?

The only time I ever allowed myself to feel sad was because I wanted to cry hard until there were no tears left for me to drop. I wanted to build strength and move on, and I knew only allowing myself to feel sad can give me such ability. Let's say it's important that we allow ourselves to be sad only when we need the strength to move on or accept a hard decision. If we dwell only in happiness, we may not truly understand some other aspects of life, like empathy, strength, and burden bearing.

What I do when I'm sad?

I think. The reason behind my sadness, the things I've done wrong, and ways to correct them. I'll allow myself to feel the pain of my wrong decisions and build decisions that will help me correct them. And if the pain is around the loss of a loved one or someone that relates to me, it makes me think of life in a different way, and inspires me to tread carefully or be wise.

I hadn't thought about that. In the end, every "negative" emotion we feel helps us connect more with other people and with ourselves. I think the biggest problem we have is that we are not taught how to manage our emotions, and that is why it is so hard for us to feel "negative" emotions.

So true, if only we are masters over our motions, then it'll help us have victory over our sad moments

Life can never offer us happiness all the time. Sometimes it sends sad moments on our way so we can understand that life isn't always a bed of roses, there are also thorns. Whichever that comes, we live it and move on.
