For me it is very important to learn to play new instruments especially if they have some connection with the mystical and spiritual world in this case the Bata drums come from Africa and came to the Caribbean through slavery a few years ago specifically in colonial times and they passed first through Cuba and then came to Venezuela, making it important that the legacy of the percussionists of this musical genre that performs the Bata drums are considered holy and sacred people connected to the mystical and spiritual world.

To get these drums was not easy because they are not sold in almost any common music store, they are usually sent to set or brought from outside the country, but I could buy mine here because they are of Venezuelan manufacture, they are smaller than the ones you can find outside the country, but I wanted this kind of drums for my collection without having to spend so much money and the savings after acquiring them was considerable. They are expensive drums due to their current use in the Yoruba religion or Santeria, so, they are expensive to buy because they are mainly used for the rituals of the religion.

For this reason I wanted this week to bring several executions accompanied both with the batá drums and my drums, the pukuinstrumento, and is what I show you below a fusion of rhythms between rock and Latin music taking the genre to a new level through experimentation. In this opportunity, I bring back something that characterizes me, creativity to the maximum, and I merge in a coherent but experimental way, both sonorities, I like the drums that, being small, bring a very sharp register, which contrasts with the one generated by my drums, and gives the impression that a real conversation is being generated between both percussive instruments.
