Good morning everyone! Today, I want to show you the delicious Arabic cachitos that my mom, dad, and I shared to celebrate the start of a new school year. We also bought pastries and a malt drink for each of us, along with some sauce to add to them. They were truly delicious, and just looking at the pictures makes my mouth water again. I am really surprised by the dough they were made with because, at first, we thought they were made with puff pastry like they do in bakeries, but the truth is that these were different, and I think they were even fried. They didn't have a dry dough but rather a very soft one. I will share what I researched about Arabic cachitos below:

Arabic cachitos should not be confused with pastries made from puff pastry, which are more common in other types of baking. The dough for Arabic cachitos is prepared differently, giving them a unique texture and flavor.

The dough for Arabic cachitos tends to be softer and less crispy than puff pastry. Generally, a combination of wheat flour, water, yeast, sugar, and salt is used. This mixture is kneaded and allowed to ferment, which allows the dough to acquire a fluffy and light consistency. Once it has risen, it is rolled out and cut into triangles, which are then filled with ingredients like ham, cheese, or meat, and rolled up to form the characteristic "cachito" shape.

The main difference lies in the preparation of the dough. While puff pastry is made through a laminating process that incorporates layers of butter, creating that flaky and crispy texture, the dough for Arabic cachitos aims to be fluffy and soft. This makes each bite a different experience, more focused on the filling than on the dough itself.

Buenos dias a todos, el dia de hoy les quiero mostrar los deliciosos cachitos arabes que compartimos mi mamá, mi papá y yo para celebrar el inicio de un nuevo año escolar; compramos además pastelitos y una malta para cada uno con salsa para agregarles; estaban realmente deliciosos y se me hace agua la boca de solo ver las imagenes de nuevo. La verdad es que estoy muy sorprendida por la masa con la que estaban hechos porque en un principio, pensabamos que eran con masa de hojaldre tal como los hacen en las panaderias pero la verdad es que estos eran distintos y creo que incluso eran fritos; no tenian una masa tan seca sino muy suave; les mostraré lo que investigué acerca de los cachitos arabes a continuacion: Los cachitos arabes no deben confundirse con los pasteles elaborados con masa de hojaldre, que son más comunes en otros tipos de repostería. La masa de los cachitos árabes se elabora de manera diferente, lo que les otorga una textura y sabor únicos.

La masa de los cachitos árabes suele ser más suave y menos crujiente que la de hojaldre. Generalmente, se utiliza una combinación de harina de trigo, agua, levadura, azúcar y sal. Esta mezcla se amasa y se deja fermentar, lo que permite que la masa adquiera una consistencia esponjosa y ligera. Una vez que ha levado, se extiende y se corta en triángulos, que luego se rellenan con ingredientes como jamón, queso, o carne, y se enrollan para formar la característica forma de "cachito".
