March HPUD Guessing Contest and Orchid Flowers
I have a feeling this month's HPUD will be quite different. @traciyork has been tied up in real life in the past few months and @arcange is probably still busy on restoring Hive SQL which was hacked a few weeks ago. They are both the driving force behind HPUD every month, hopefully they will be back very soon.
That said, their absence shouldn't stop everyone from powering up today. HPUD has become a nice habit for me every month. Hopefully it will be for you as well, and you will continue to power up to increase your stake on Hive. That's the easiest way to grow your account and influence on Hive.
Some of you may know I like my round figures and last night I powered up 190 HP to get to 114k.
March HPUD Guessing Contest
Now onto my monthly HPUD Guessing Contest. Do you like my orchid plant? I bought it a few weeks ago and it's bloomed beautifully, so beautiful that I thought it deserves to be the star of my HPUD Guessing Contest. This month I would like you to guess
How many flowers are there in this pot of orchid?
There are two branches potted here, and if you zoom in, you will see a bud at the top, please include that as well as it will bloom soon. You can see most of the flowers in the photos, and there may or may not be some hidden behind them. What do you think? Let me know your answer in the comments below.
The person who guess correctly or the nearest to the correct answer will get 100 Hive powered up to your account. If there are more than one winner, you will share the 100 HP. And if you win and powered up on HPUD I will double your win. However, if you are powering down or have powered down in the past month you will not be eligible for any prizes. It's pointless for me to power up to you to help you grow your account if you're powering down.
As usual, I will upvote your entry and the % will be based on your level of engagement as the whole reason I started this HPUD Guessing Contest was to drive up quality engagement on Hive. Good luck everyone!!

What a joyful contest for this month! My guess is 16 flowers in the orchid. I also have 3 orchids, but mine aren't blooming yet... The temperatures aren't that cold here, but I think i haven't pay them much attention... Shame on me!
It is good to know that the community is together in Powering Up even if the usual post haven't been published due to the attack that hive SQL suffered.

The orchid is very nice. My ones died a long time ago, just one survived. It has buds and in a few weeks, it will bloom too. My guess is that your plant has 16 flowers + one bud that is still not open. 🌸

Power up day is when I do my biggest power up, I am part of the 1k club apart from that I power up some hive every day so my account is growing nicely.

Yes, it’s 1k hive every month, I am almost at orca level.
When I counted for the first time I got 18, but now I don't see them anymore 😂 It doesn't matter as I go with my first guess 😉

I was going to guess 15 or 16, but it looks like a lot of people have thrown those out there already. I am going to go with 13 just to be different, even though it probably isn't accurate!

I was thinking that the HPUD recording could be messed up, but I also added some anyway as I plan to buy some $HIVE each month for that. When HiveSQL is back it will interesting to check the stats.
Hopefully the sync will be finished very soon, I think it's a lot of transactions every day

That's unfortunate, but I'm sure we all have needs sometimes. I had some entrants that were in constant power down which goes against the whole power up idea, so it wasn't fair on others. Thanks for the tip
Power Up is a routine for me, I will continue to do it on the first day of every month. I have been trying to earn the Power Up Month badge for a few months now, but I always forget a day and miss the badge. It was frustrating. Anyway, thank you Pauline for your commitment to this event!
My guess is that there were 19 flowers there. It wasn't easy to count and I'm sure I made a mistake, but we'll see :P

I very different HPUD with everything that has happened. Your correct in saying it shouldn't stop us from doing our monthly part of powering up today 😊 I felt I scraped through February, well hoping I will break that trend now that we are in March now. Hopefully a better month ahead for all of us!

It's more beautiful than an orchid. My orchid did not bloom this year. I counted 16 flowers on the orchid. One bud. 🌺
I bought this a few weeks ago that's why it's blooming so nice, I hope it will repeat next year.

I love orchids, those are beautiful! I'm so bad at these guessing games and although I only see 15 (the one bud included in that number) I think there are some hiding in the back, so I'm guessing 17!

That's a good strategy. Orchids often re-bloom again after they drop all of their flowers and if you wait a little while. I love that about orchids

I finally sowed some veggies seedlings today. 3 days into March and only because I promised my sister I'd do it so it will be ready for when she comes back from holiday, otherwise I would have left it ....
