🎄Elf on the Shelf Christmas Contest is Underway!🎅

What's that? a contest? This year, we are going to have some fun! Which, is no surprise, because we love having fun. We have a contest for all you Hive denizens. It's called the Elf on the Shelf. It is fairly simple, we have 7 volunteers that are hiding some elves today, to watch all of you Hivepeeps and make sure you are being naughty nice! If you happen to come across one of them, you win a prize.

What even is 'The Elf on the Shelf'? Where did that come from? In 2005 (which makes it a fairly recent Holiday gesture), Chanda Bell suggested to her family that they write a book on their own personal family tradition. The book was about an elf sent by Santa Claus, that watched over families - mostly the children - and reported back to the North Pole on whether or not they were being naughty or nice.

You ever wonder how you ended up either of those lists?

It's because of the elves. They've apparently been doing it the entire time and we just couldn't see them.

Trixies they are.

Mischievous pixies they are.

But, it gives us something fun to do.

After the self-published book went into it's marketing mode, it captured several awards including a Book of the Year from Creative Child's Awards and a National Best Books Award from USA Book News, before finally hitting the number one spot on USA Today's bestseller list. I wonder if our tradition of opening presents could be bestseller? HA!

The Good Stuff

So yes, we are giving out some prizes to those that find an Elf we placed on chain as afore mentioned. This year, @stickupboys have stepped forth to spread some of that Christmas love around with us. Here's what we got for prizes for all of you feeling that holiday vibe:

1. 70 HBI from @thealliance - 10 per Elf found.
2. Another 21 HBI from @stickupboys - 3 per Elf found.
3. 35 LGN from @stickupboys - 5 per Elf found.

That puts each Elf currently worth 13 HBI and 5 LGN. Starting to wish I had someone else run this contest so I can go find one! 😁 To be sure you did, please comment with the link below where you discovered the little spritely character. You have until 12:01 am CST on the 26th of December of this year (2023) to find the elves before they return to the North Pole. That's it, go have some fun!
