LOH Contest: Guidance to my younger self #191
It's really a privilege how I have grown into a lady so fast,how time flies.
This topic has made me to reflect on so many things about my childhood but am grateful that all the experiences both good and bad has shaped me into who I am today and if i am to advise my younger self
I have few advise i would love to tell my younger self if possible.
-How to react when bullied: i didn't get this early as a child but presently am teaching my kids incase of repeattation.
I would advise my younger self to consciously stop feeling bad when bullied i should know that it's not my fault that am bullied but it is their fault
their state of mind and their insecurities.
I would advise my younger self not to be intimidated by the bullies but should report them to an elderly person or parents.
And above all i would tell my younger self to be more confident in herself.
-To forgive easily and let things go and never carry the burdens of pains,anger, frustrations and bitterness.
-Never to feel frustrated and depressed when things goes wrong.
Am presently working on myself not to feel frustrated when life sucks.
-To be happy always no matter
the problem.
I have consciously been advising my kids on this point that no matter the problem they should learn to stay happy while solving it.
and I wish I knew this earlier that no one can make me happy except myself, therefore I should own my happiness always,
for there's no right time,moment or event to be happy,the right time is now.
Don't wait to be validated by people:i would advise that i should validate myself
To maintain a healthy self-esteem:
I would advise my old younger self to always feel good about herself and to value her worth every passing day.
Forgiveness is healing, it is freedom. There things we both will change if only we could go back to live young again, Why? Because we have learnt in the process of growing and that's what makes life life
We are all proud of who we are today and we all are trying our best to shape our life for the future and secure it. But if we get the opportunity to guide our younger self ( I know it's impossible; unless someone invents a time machine for everybody), why not we give ourselves some advice for a better future right? You have shared some great pieces of advice.
