LOH COMMUNITY CONTEST #160 | YOU WERE LIKE A SECOND MUM.
πββοΈ Hello dear Hive family! Hope you are enjoying your weekend?
It's a pleasure to be here again for my entry to the 160th edition of the LOH Community contest which says "Do you know someone dear to your heart who passed away unexpectedly? In case he/she can read your letter from heaven, what do you want to tell him/her? You can express your feelings, emotions, and everything else you've been holding inside that remained unspoken before he/she passed away.
I had an aunt who passed away on 19th March, 2020, it was shortly after the Corona Virus Disease was confirmed in my country, Nigeria.
Aunty, I wish you could read this from heaven π₯Ί.
If I was told that three months after we celebrated Mama, you would be no more, I definitely would not have believed it. I never knew it was the last time I would spend time with you on earth.

Aunty Caro (Caroline), as I fondly called you, I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to say good bye properly, I thought we had more time to spend. If not for the carelessness of the doctors and nurses who treated you, you would have still been alive.
I can't explain the shock I experienced on hearing your demise, I never saw it coming, I cried my eyes out, but when I remembered how you lived your life on earth, I was a bit consoled knowing that you are in heaven.

I reminisce on the times we spent together wherever I visited the village. I enjoyed the days we went to farm together, it's unfortunate I had no camera phone then to take some shots of us (even though you really did not like taking photos). You cared so much for me like your own daughter and you gave me your cake pans in the university when you knew I was baking with aluminium plate and pot, to enable me bake conveniently, that made me stop baking cakes with aluminium plate and pot and I am very grateful Aunty.
You were big-hearted and made sure those around you were happy. Aunty, Mama misses you and it was difficult finding someone to care for her like you did and my mum (your dearest sister), had to spend a year with her, Dad (your dearest brother in-law) was also coming around to spend time with her. It wasn't easy for Mama to move on but she's better now.
Aunty Caro, I still miss the snacks you made those days and at times I discuss about it with my siblings. I miss your presence, your jokes, your personality, working with you, watching movies and your favourite shows, I also miss cooking with you.
Your funeral was a successful one and it was a sorrowful day. Your friends and our relatives were present to pay you the last respect, we also sang your favourite songs and we are sure you're resting peacefully.
If there is something, I didn't tell you before you left, is that, "You were my favourite aunt and still are", no one has filled that space. I only wish you had more time to spend here on earth and if God willed, bless you with a good husband and then I get to attend your wedding...we were hopeful. God knows best and the reason He allowed you pass away.
You are forever in my heart and I am grateful to God I had an aunty like you.
I miss you so much Aunty Caro β€οΈ
Your dear niece, Ipi as you fondly called me.

You're welcome. It's my pleasure taking part in the weekly contest.
Having regrets is the hardest thing, after someone passes. This is why I try to give everyone what I can, while I still can. Am I successful? Only God knows as you never know when is one's last day, but we need to try to live every day like it's the last one. I hope your auntie can read your letter, it's a nice one.

It's been such a rollercoaster of emotions reading this week entries!
You're right, but new topics, more of fun are here for us to let go of the sadness felt from the previous week.
Thanks for stopping by.
It's indeed sad to see that such a sweet soul was taken by the hands of death so soon. She sounds like she has such a sweet heart. One can only hope that she is resting in the bosom of our Lord Jesus.
May her gentle soul rest in peace, and may you and your family have the strength to bear the loss. Thank you for sharing this with us!

Yes, she had a sweet heart. At times I avoid remembering the battle and fears at her last hour even though I wasn't physically present, I kept receiving information about how she felt and how she was treated in the hospital. Anyway, God knows best. I try to focus on the good memories and chuckle over them to keep moving on.
Amen. I hope so too. God has strengthened us.
Thanks so much dear dreemer β€οΈ for coming around. Cheers π₯
I am so sorry for her death. The way you described her I can tell she really was a good person. We have hope that we will see her in the resurrection. May the resurrection hope continue to comfort you and all she left behind.
Amen. Thanks so much.
