My Journey on Hive - Contest #227

How did I hear about the Hive blockchain

I am very new to Hive, so everything still feels fresh. It's been about two and a half months since I joined, and I was introduced to it by @bigHungryPanda, who has been on the platform for around three years.

He first told me about Hive a long time ago. I remember him showing me some of his posts, maybe early last year but I didn’t take it seriously. I thought, "No, this isn’t my thing. I don’t do this." It felt like another Instagram but with more words, or just a place for showing off things. I was sure it wasn’t for me.

But recently, he brought it up again and said, "You should really think about this. It’s a great platform to share your experiences and you’ll meet amazing people and be part of a strong community." So I decided, "Sure, why not give it a try?" And ever since, I've been enjoying my time here.

My First Experience on Hive

The first post I had to write was an introduction, and it had to be very detailed. I read a few introduction posts written by members here to get an idea. It took me a long time to put it together. Somehow, I managed to finish it, but the process was daunting.

It felt like putting myself out there for the world to see, open to judgment and criticism. That made me really nervous because I wasn’t used to doing things like this. But in the end, I published my introduction post, and it turned out quite well.

After that, the next step was to engage with other people. At first, it felt so unnatural. I'm all for reading other people's experiences but interacting with strangers? That wasn’t something I ever did.

At first, it felt wierd, but now it has become second nature. The community has been incredibly welcoming. Every comment I receive is so kind and thoughtful, which motivates me to do the same for others. When I read someone’s post, I now feel good to share my thoughts and appreciate the effort they put into their work. It’s been a wonderful experience.

What I Love About Hive

One thing I love about Hive is that there’s a community for almost any topic you can think of. It’s crazy how so many people have created these communities, and everything is so well organized.

Another thing I like is that each community has its own rules and guidelines. For me, this was really helpful because it keeps content well-managed and makes it easier to find what you're looking for. It narrows things down, so you get more specific content without too much clutter.

And the best part? No matter what you write about, there’s always a place for it. Hive is so inclusive that every post can find a home somewhere.

I love writing here because it lets me save my memories and experiences forever. Since nothing can be deleted from the blockchain, everything I share will always be here. I can look back anytime and relive those moments through my words and pictures.

Finding Help and Support

The various Discord servers have been a huge help to me. Most of the Hive communities I'm part of also have Discord channels, and I joined them too. Whenever I had a question—which happened a lot, especially in the beginning—I could ask in these channels, and someone always responded.

The answers were always detailed and easy to understand, which I really appreciated. It made me feel welcome and reassured that I wasn’t alone in figuring things out. The people here are amazing—always helpful, always supportive. No complaints at all!

A Community That Keeps Growing

I’ve noticed that experienced Hive users are always creating new initiatives to expand the platform, help newcomers grow, and make everything more engaging.

For example, APIS HIVE (@apis.hive), which I’m a part of, is an amazing initiative. It’s clear that people here truly enjoy being part of this community and care about its growth. This only strengthens my belief that I’m in the right place.

Joining Hive has turned out to be a great decision. At first, I wasn’t sure if it was for me, but over time, I realized how welcoming and supportive this platform is. From writing my first post to engaging with others, every step has been a learning experience. The variety of communities and the passion of Hive users make this platform truly special. I’m excited to continue growing here, learning new things, and being part of such an amazing space.

Bhai yaar, Insta se compare mat kar.
Usse zeher platform meine nahi dekha. Matlab wahan content se jayda booty hain. Matlab motivational posts mein bhi aapko kuch aaur hi milta hain.
HIVE is so much better than that.

I think you accidentally looped us. Instead of APIS HIVE Link you are linking this same post.

Han well mai "content creation" se dur hi Rahi hu so Instagram and YouTube ke alawa aur koi sites malum nahi they. But now I know Hive and I can safely say it's 10x better or rather, there's no comparison at all.

Yeah it looks like I messed up the link but I've tagged their account as well so it's fine I guess.

Shukriya aapke comment ke liye!

As a newcomer myself, I can relate to you. This place feels fresh, vast, and overwhelming, but exciting.

Hive has a place for everyone. The community guideline is the best to show us a path and where to step our foot.

It takes time to get used to this environment, as blogging is new to many of us. I wish you become best on hive.
