Upcoming Changes to Vibes: 🚩🚩🚩
We wanted to announce several key updates to Vibes aimed at enhancing both our social media content creation efforts and overall reach. Recent trends have indicated a period of stagnation, and in order to justify the continued funding support from Hive, we must significantly increase our promotional activities. These changes are designed to re-energize our community and ensure the long-term success of Vibes.
Please review the following updates carefully, as they will be strictly enforced moving forward:
Beneficiary Requirement
All contest entries must allocate a 5% beneficiary share to the Vibes account (@hive-140169) to be eligible for curation.
This has been part of our rules since the inception of Vibes and is crucial in supporting the ongoing efforts of the team. The only exception to this rule will be for new accounts, which will have a grace period before compliance is strictly required.
Its very easy to do. Some frontends like Peakd will do it automatically but if not, when making a post you just need to click "ADVANCED" and click "set beneficiary".
Upvote Cap and Promotional Video Requirement
Moving forward, the upvote cap from our curators will be set at a maximum of $10 USD per post. To unlock higher votes, participants will be required to create and post one promotional video related to Hive, Vibes, or both, each month. This video should be included in their weekly entry.
The best video each month will be selected by the Vibes team and awarded $100 HBD💰, with the primary selection criterion being the number of views on social media. (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter)
Please note, new users and certain community members who have consistently promoted Vibes on Twitter Spaces and achieved significant social media engagement will not be subject to this requirement.
Enhanced Social Media Presence
We are pleased to announce the addition of a dedicated social media manager to the Vibes team. We will be ramping up our efforts, particularly on Instagram, while maintaining our current momentum on Twitter. Our Instagram strategy will include featuring highlights from the top Vibes entries, with reels showcasing a few seconds of standout content from both previous and future weeks.

Prize Pool Adjustment
To accommodate the costs associated with hiring a social media manager and the new promotional video reward, the first prize will be adjusted from 500 HBD to 400 HBD. (Only first prize is changing) Once we reach over 500 weekly entries, we will revisit and increase the prize pool accordingly.
We believe these changes will help drive greater visibility and engagement for Vibes, ensuring its continued growth and success.

Right now we are working with the Breakaway community team to figure out onboarding to the designated Vibes website. If we manage to deal with the kinks, getting people into Hive will be much easier. So look out for that.

They are very good changes that will undoubtedly help vibes grow but I have a question I would like to know if the promotional video of hive and vibes in addition to social networks when we include it in the video of our participation we put it at the beginning or at the end?
You record the promo video separately to your entry video. Then for the whole month you post the promo video with your entry every week in a Hive post.

Vibes - Love all of the movement forwards! We can all drive forwards together!
I like the drive to get more people here by spreading to more socials to promote - I will get onto this. I did post a few videos on YouTube which has 7 people almost sign up, but they all found it too hard to understand and login/post (their words) and they gave up after a few days of trying. I'll try to give them more guidance next time, maybe my crowd are not the most computer literate, but it should also be easy to sign up and go, to some degree anyway. More coming!! :)
