Here we are, at the end of the 14th week of Vibes. 😎

Each of the musicians deserve to win the main award. Unfortunately only 6 had to be chosen in the end.

...but, as we like to remind folks.

With Vibes everyone is a Winner!

Our Vibes supporters and curators have distributed more than $5000 USD worth of upvotes for this week plus the cash reward. As the value of Hive rises so do everyone's payouts.

We are on the path of reaching our "silent" goal of $500 000 USD of value created by Vibes inside a year.
As the value of Hive grows this becomes a reality.

Our hope is to bring you all many more weeks of this as we intend to make Vibes the biggest web3 music competition on the internet!

This week the community was able to choose the winners alongside the judges. 1/3 of the vote came from the community itself.

SOME NUMBERS:

  • our collab with Sam Feldt generated quite a bit of attention on Twitter. More than 600 people tuned in with many new influential people in the space taking note of Vibes.
    We managed to even get some copy cats. :), that are taking the idea of Vibes and doing it on other chains. Thats great to hear both from recognition perspective (highest form of flattery :) )
    and from the fact that others are realizing there is value in supporting musicians.

We are seeing difficulty with onboarding voters easily. This was brought up in a few of my DMs. Offchain accounts seem to be a clear necessity.

Get them here the easiest way we can and over time they will potentially stay.

  • The poll post just on Peakd (the posts we promote on social media are from Ecency but Ecency doesnt have a view counter) consistently are the TOP viewed posts on Hive. All Vibes polls are the top voted polls on Hive so this can be indicative of visible reach elsewhere as well. Polls are a call to action and generate far more engagement than most other posts. A lesson to be had there.

On Hive, there are users who use the DHF for personal gain, not genuinely caring about Hive's growth. Tribes may promise much but consistently fall short, leading to disappointment by many who invest time and money. It's puzzling how one can be rewarded for subpar work.

Hive's Decentralized Hive Fund (DHF) is a topic of debate. We feel it's not being utilized effectively, serving more as a resource for various Hive 'farmers'. The concept of voting gangs is also a concern, top Hive farmers and abusers are influencing the trending page.

Hive has a significant amount of unstaked coins, which could impact its price. Transparency and honesty are crucial. There's a fear of speaking up due to potential downvotes, which doesn't align with the idea of true freedom.

Farming? Show me where I am farming, I post like one post a month at this point, and all buildawhale is burned. As you say transactions don’t lie. And don't say curation rewards, I'd get those no matter what I vote on and if you expect I will be the only person on this blockchain to forfeit curation rewards, you are dumber than we know you are.

People only tolerate you for the votes
Interesting, considering I don't vote anyone.

You vote on you're own spam comments every day @buildawhale to earn curation rewards. There are many authors on Hive whom you could support, but you choose not to you keep it to yourself don't you Marcus? You are no good Marcus.

I used to vote over 200 unique authors a day, many of which my vote was their only significant vote, and for over a year every post and every vote I would make would get downvoted for $50 because someone was sad I stopped the abuse they were voting on. I lost my ability to choose what I vote on years ago. It has finally stopped, so I started the burn posts to reduce the inflation due to the wreckless DHF spending. Of course I earn curation rewards, like every single person on Hive. I will not be the only person on Hive to forfeit curation rewards, and to expect that is ridiculous. You are one to talk about spam comments, you are spamming hundreds if not thousands of comments a day.

In this week 15 I am going to participate paying tribute to an Australian duo that for decades has given us high quality romantic songs, songs that we never get tired of listening to, playing and singing... It is the duet Air Supply and the song is " The one that you love", one of the first songs that I learned to play on the guitar and that, since then, I have not stopped performing.
