My Crownrend Journey and some ideas for the future of the game!
My journey so far
I started playing Crownrend the day it came out. The big reason I decide to start playing it was that I really did like the idea behind the game concept. The start was quite slow as prices were high and even when the prices would have been lower I was still really sceptical about the inflationary system of Denar and Ori from the start.
That aside I decided to grow my Kingdom manually. As I said the start was slow as heck. I was making just couple of denars per claim. Even tho I managed to claim 4-5 time out of 6 it was looking quite promising as any of us did not know how huge the ramp up of Denar production was going to be at this point.
Couple of weeks went by and I was still making only 8 Denar per claim :(( still 0 items to my name. Then the race started, couple of people started buying a large amounts of denar, ori and items and therefore started printing denar out of thin air.
A month or so from the release @yabapmatt was already printing so much he was giving away items to those who were active in Splinterlands and were not in the top10 I believe. From him I got my first 3 rares which boosted my production a lot as up to this point I was still sitting on 0 items. Much appreciation for my first items!!
Couple more days came and went till @vcelier decided to give away one legendary item to the first player who were invested into Holozing and sent him a screenshot for a proof. Even tho I was out with my friends at that time and saw the message 30min later I still managed to be a first one somehow, big thank you for that wonderful legendary :))
With these items I was able to start buying chest with my own production slowly. Right now I have opened 40 chests and only gotten one rare which is average when looking at the drop rates. After that I started to fall in the rankings hard as the price of denar was droping faster and faster so more people were passing me. But then someone was starting to send me items but as the game UI does not show you who sent them I have not been able to thank them :((

I have gotten some amazing items from that generous player huge huge thanks again for those items. I also have some others that I use in my attack preset (not displayed in this picture).
With these items I am currently sitting in rank #60 as of writing this post!! I am making around 15 Denar per hour and about 150 Denar per claim with all of my attacks. Still need to level up my vault to not waist any potential tho. Still going strong with 5 claim per day out of the max 6. I recently also had my biggest raid steal, even tho almost half was lost due my vault filling up the gamble was big and it paid off.
Now as we are finally in the present lets talk about what I have liked and what I have not liked about Crownrend so far.
Positives
Game idea itself is really interesting when you can imagine the bigger picture. Yes the gameplay right now is not really something to brag about but I have faith in the dev and the community.
Account leveling system and duration is also another thing to talk about. At first the leveling was really really slow which I really liked as that gave the perspective what the game could have felt like when the rapid inflation was not a thing. And the system itself is great, who does not like to expand there kingdom little by little with every claim
The possibility to expand on the existing game. I really to think the game still has a lot of potential when we play some things differently than we are playing them right now. With that lets move onto the things a really to not like right now.
Negatives
The biggest and most important thing first, the rapid inflation. Well no matter how fun the game is or is not the whole meaning of crypto game at least for me is that the thing I own are worth something even when I do not sell them.
How sad the UI is looking right now. Do not get me wrong the site itself is find enough but the possibilities are there and just need to be executed. Simple things like reordering the filter dropdown, Adding sort by price to market and suggested price when listing your items. Many more awesome ideas in Crownrend wishlist channel.
Negatives aside lets take about my ides how to save this amazing game as I said before I think there is still time to do so.
My ideas
The biggest problem right now is the inflation so lets start there. As far as denar goes rather than having unlimited denar printing I would love to see a fixed daily pool of denar given out where your production rate defines the amount you produce. I am not really sure if it is even doable or what the right steps are but what I know is that this can not stay like this as we can see right now and I must be the first thing to change in the game as it just keeps getting worse and worse with every passing day it is not fixed.
The second topic of the game I would like to see a change in is the Items. I really to like the items but the leveling system is I am sorry but super dog right now. I would rather see the leveling be the same as in Splinterlands where you need a fix amount of same cards not just pay ori. That way you really do need to get lucky with chest or just buy items from others. That also would make lower rarity items more usable than they are right now as they get opened many many times more than the higher rarities do you would be able to level them up more and possible make then even better than just a single copy of legendary. Would promise you that chance by itself would make all of the cheap commons in the market leave in instant and add back the value that has been going lower and lower by every single day. And to people who gonna say that way it is impossible to level any divine items or items with Mine level, my answer to this is good, plz look at the bigger picture I really hope this takes long as you can see the current system is not working as I have experienced all things that come fast go fast in crypto lets make the game last a long time rather than make people happy for a second when they get there hands on a divine item and then realize that it is worthless as all top500 players already have them maxed out.
Third topic in my book would be ori. As I explained above, lose the idea of using ori for leveling and make it a guild token or make it usable in other gamemodes like group raids or something else.
The UI needs updates for sure as well. Many things are just wrong and unfinished with the UI right now like reordering the rarity filter dropdown, Adding sort by price to market and suggested price when listing your items. There are definitely more and more to be done as far as the UI goes but the import thing is that we start from somewhere and not just leave it and say its good enough.
The lack of content. Do not get me wrong I am still enjoying the game as it is right now but I can see the bigger picture and see the game from the eyes of the top10 who just have nothing to do in the game as of right now. My recommendation would simple be to add more things to do. Quests, group raids, guild/alliance activities there are so many possibilities just need to work on the finer details.
If the dev is lacking money to fund the project I was also thinking about the possibility of chest costing hive and leave denar for only upgrading you base stats. Also that does not mean you only have to spend money to progress, you could always sell your denar you make for hive and buy chests with that money.
End Word
Sadly I am currently working 12 hour days so I do not have the time to make a super detailed post about what I really think and believe in about Crownrend but hopefully this is enough for the start. As I was saying Crownrend still has time and has a lot of potential. Hopefully the community and dev and come together to make Crownrend great again!! Would love to hear you ideas in the comments and also leave a feedback about my ides, lets brainstorm and come up with a system were everybody does not print 1mil denar per claim :))
Really, you cannot guess who is sending you items?
Maybe it is the leader of your future alliance! 😂
That would have been my first guess but the idea of yaba or someone else in top 10 being already so rich that they started sending items to random people was also on the table haha 😂😂. Thank you so much for the item tho 🥳😇, trying my best to get as much as possible out of them!!
Awesome stats you've been able to acquire!
!BBH
Thanks to some good and generos players the ramp up is been quite amazing!!
Good start but I would disagree with your thoughts on Ori as Ori gives the common/uncommon/rare items their value. Otherwise there would be SOoooo many of them printed that they would be completely worthless. Ori is a way to provide value to denar through needing it for upgrades. You must burn the denar to get the items then burn the items you don't want and can't sell for Ori to get upgrades over time.
I would, however, like to see the upgrade costs for lower items lowered so make upgrades more accessable. something like ~5x the burn value so if you get 5 commons you could burn them all for an upgrade while you're searching for the ancients and such.
The scaling of the denar production needs to be reviewed for sure as the top 3 players probably print more than 99% of denar. They could easily crash the denar market to nothing but it would just create more competition for them. I think the only thing stopping them is their desire to upgrade their buildings and find divines. I've been able to buy a few ancient buildings and now it's better for me to sell my denar and buy Ori because 1-1.5 ori will get me ~80 more stats.
There is something missing though. Something to fill the time between the claims. Maybe find another use for the army energy. Some kind of mini game or simple strategy card game to build into the game.
Yes, you can look at it that way about ori but when we cap denar production they value would be there anyway as all of the players would compete over the same pool of denar anyway. You want more than your share produces go the the market and buy it, simple as that.
And the benefit of upgrading items through combining would be that items with lower tier would be also useful because they get printed more therefor they would be higher level than the higher tier ones.
Just thoughts tho I like the discussion, make people think and come up with a system that is sustainable and fun for everybody.
I like the idea of a pool of denar split BUT with the top 3 producing such massive amounts of it right now, the average starting account could be claiming like next to nothing after 4 hours and if the upgrade costs remain the same it could lead to people hitting unrest timer without having enough denar for any upgrade which would cause frustration.
The change yesterday to make the chests cost 3000 is interesting. I go from being able to open 30 chests every 4 hours to being able to open 1 every 4 hours. Which seems low but is nothing compared to the accounts who were only bringing in 100 denar a claim. I think with the new chest costs, the rarity pulls should be adjusted up 10x.
I understand the need to combat the inflation from the top 1% of players but if a player saved all their denar for a week then gets a common pull, it would be disheartening. Chests have now become a sink for the top 25 accounts really. I'm ranked #26 currently and I am claiming about 4k at a time. It took me 335 pulls to get 1 mythical which is a 1/1000 odds. A lower starting account would take years to get that much denar without buying it. I just don't see that being sustainable for a free to play account. I still think a balance pass needs to be done to adjust the effectiveness of trade power and tax as well as removing or adjusting the scaling of mine level on buildings.
Thats true, maybe a fixed minimum claim amount that is couple of denar or something now that the first chest are cheap again. Would still allow new players to earn while the daily denar pool caps top players.
