Β Β Β This week's featured Hiver is from Brunei, a country without very many ASEAN Hive Community members, and I have learned a lot about this lesser known Southeast Asian country. There are several community members that share the island of Borneo with her, and I've always found intriguing that three countries share this island.
Β Β Β Anyhow, let's talk about @chichi18, an engaged ASEAN Hiver and a talented writer. As a cook and restaurateur, I love learning about a country through its food, and before I discovered her blog, I knew very little about Bruneian cuisine. In one of her recent posts that I've shared below, the open house post, you can find several tempting dishes that are quite an introduction to the food of her country.
Β Β Β I didn't even know she had singing and guitar talents until I scrolled her blog for posts beyond ASEAN Hive. Well, what can I say, you should definitely visit her blog instead of waiting for a post to appear in the community feed. there are many gems there. Her "Stand By Me" cover is incredible, and what a beautiful voice she has.
Β Β Β Now that you've been serenated, let's have something to eat, the above post is not only a good example of Bruneian cuisine like I mentioned previously, but the post also highlights her writing abilities. I have been fascinated with Borneo since I was a teenager, and I love that there are ASEAN Hivers from Sarawak, Sabah, and Brunei who share their lives with us all. Let's all celebrate this talented and engaged ASEAN Hive VIP, and I highly recommend you check out her blog.
