Feeding the world, one seed at a time - Classic village moment.
Village life is often considered "classical" because it represents a traditional, long-standing way of life. A life which is deeply rooted in community, agriculture, and simple customs, which has remained relatively unchanged for centuries. Such lifestyle mirroring the characteristics often associated with classical societies in history. Villages typically have close-knit social structures where people rely heavily on each other, similar to the communal aspects of ancient civilizations.
Todays I get you a walk though to one such aspect, where even at times of modernisation things were carried out in pretty traditional ways.
The daily routines in villages tend to be less complex, with a focus on basic needs like food, shelter, and family, reflecting a more "primitive" way of living. As the harvesting season is going on and all the Farmers were busy with their paddy, there used to be a common sight all over the place. Be it on the fields or terrace Farmers were seen #threshing the crops in age old traditional ways.
In the fast paced modern lifestyle, the sight is very uncommon for most of the people. They consider farming to be automated process but in reality it takes a lot of effort of the farmer. The Farmers were seen beating their paddy's on a flat hard surface.
Threshing is the process of separating grains from the rest of the plant. Threshing is usually the second stage in the supply chain for most grains. Though it can be done in number of ways, however the villagers prefer the old traditional method. The most common method, where crops are beaten against a hard surface like the ground or a wall. This method is often used for threshing rice that has a lower moisture content.
Farmers prefer this method, primarily due to its low cost, especially when dealing with small land holdings, limited access to machinery, or when the crop requires careful handling to minimize damage, making it a more suitable option. Being a close knotted community, manual threshing can be a social activity, with multiple people working together to complete the task. They help each other and makes work easy. I was there noticing their work and also enjoying a bright sun in winter.
They indeed set up a good example for community building and classical lifestyle. After watching them working so hard, i clicked them in the most classical wsy. This is my entry to Monomad Challenge.
Peace!!

What a lovely way to present a moment in your life and I love how you've presented it in black and white photos. It's interesting to see the process and I imagine it's been done that way for so long; people working towards feeding themselves rather than being reliant on others.

People are so dependent on traditional methods of farming, they are labour oriented , still they are happy for doing that way.
Black and white photographs have a special style that I love, and these ones you bring us about working in the countryside are great!
Thank you 🙂 it is good to get into an old era and b&w just make it quite simple
You did very well!
I am happy to see that the tradition from the ancestors is still alive so far in your area, life in the village does provide a cool and peaceful feel to see the activities of the farmers that they work every day, good shot my friend 😍👍
choosing B&W for these shots works well to give such a timeless feel, which works so well highlighting doign things the traditional way
and your right small villages have such a better sens eof community and sadly that fades as places get bigger
Thanks for joining the Wednesday walk
Have a great day
There's something really satisfying about a slower pace of life like this. I'd like to think if we had more small mutual communities like this things wouldn't be as crazy as they are in the world.
