What about eating Jollof rice every day?

  Since I was a child, I was in love with meeting different cultures and places. I used to collect flag stickers and knew most of the country's capital names by memory. That reflected my wish to explore the world, but I didn't travel much outside the country until I left my parents' home. Once I started to get my own money, I started exploring other Brazilian cities and other countries. I can say that I explored a bit until my children were born. Buying airplane tickets for 4 is more challenging than buying tickets to 1 or 2, so I reduced a bit my pace of exploring the world.

  I could travel to some European and Middle Eastern countries, in addition to, of course, North, Central, and South American countries. There are still many countries to visit, but I haven't explored much of Africa and Asia. So here are some thoughts about some ideas:

Nigeria

  I have been learning a lot about this country lately, meeting good friends in Hive. A while ago I watched the animation "Iwaju" by Disney where it shows a futuristic Lagos. Of course I know that it is a sci-fi animation and there aren't flying cars in Nigeria. But it shows a bit of the culture of the country, like food, and also the differences between the Mainland and the Island, which is the main important difference in the city. Like my hometown, Nigeria has socioeconomic disparity in the population, and the Island is where you find most of the rich people. But the Mainland is where the fun is, like the popular market and entertainment. But I would love to meet the Lekki conservation center, where you can find many local animals in their wilderness.

  The food has many vegetables and it is quite interesting to try. I went to a local Nigerian restaurant here in Canada and tried some Egusi Soup and the famous Jollof Rice, rice with tomatoes. The country is hot like Brazil, and to be frank, I am not willing to live again in a hot country, and so crowded. But still beautiful to visit and meet some friends from Hive.

Japan

  I have always been curious about Japan, I love their food and culture. I have been an Otaku for many years, and learning the basis of words in Japanese while watching anime and reading manga. Right now we have a Japanese student in our place for a while learning English. I made some Miso Ramen one day and she approved! I am an expert in Japanese cuisine. But I would love to visit the country and see Mount Fuji and visit temples and shrines in Kyoto. The country is a very organized country and its people are also very organized and clean.

  Different from Nigeria, the weather is more like what I am used to right now. The country also has some colder places in the north with big snowfalls. The people aren't warm like Nigeria, but very polite and respectful. For sure language is the main barrier since Japanese is total different compared to the western countries, my kids would be the ones to suffer more. Maybe I wouldn't relocate now, because of that.

  I could also cite many other countries and write about each one of them, but it is always nice to read and see and feel the emotions of being in a different place with different foods, views and things to do. Nigeria and Japan are definitely awesome place to visit one day.

  Desde criança, eu era apaixonada por conhecer culturas e lugares diferentes. Eu colecionava adesivos de bandeiras e sabia de cor a maioria dos nomes das capitais do país. Isso refletia meu desejo de explorar o mundo, mas não viajei muito para fora do país até sair da casa dos meus pais. Depois que comecei a ganhar meu próprio dinheiro, comecei a explorar outras cidades brasileiras e outros países. Posso dizer que explorei um pouco até meus filhos nascerem. Comprar passagens aéreas para 4 é mais desafiador do que comprar passagens para 1 ou 2, então reduzi um pouco meu ritmo de exploração do mundo.

  Eu poderia viajar para alguns países da Europa e Oriente Médio, além, é claro, dos países da América do Norte, Central e do Sul. Ainda há muitos países para visitar, mas não explorei muito da África e da Ásia. Então aqui estão algumas reflexões sobre algumas ideias:

Nigéria

  Tenho aprendido muito sobre este país ultimamente, encontrando bons amigos em Hive. Há algum tempo assisti à animação "Iwaju" da Disney, onde mostra uma Lagos futurista. Claro que sei que é uma animação de ficção científica e que não há carros voadores na Nigéria. Mas mostra um pouco da cultura do país, como a comida, e também as diferenças entre o continente e a ilha, que é a principal diferença importante na cidade. Assim como minha cidade natal, a Nigéria tem disparidade socioeconômica na população, e a ilha é onde você encontra a maioria das pessoas ricas. Mas o continente é onde está a diversão, como o mercado popular e o entretenimento. Mas eu adoraria conhecer o centro de conservação Lekki, onde você pode encontrar muitos animais locais em sua natureza selvagem.

  A comida tem muitos vegetais e é bem interessante de experimentar. Fui a um restaurante nigeriano local aqui no Canadá e experimentei um pouco de sopa Egusi e o famoso arroz Jollof, arroz com tomates. O país é quente como o Brasil e, para ser franco, não estou disposto a viver novamente em um país quente e tão lotado. Mas ainda é lindo visitar e conhecer alguns amigos do Hive.

Japão

  Sempre fui curioso sobre o Japão, adoro sua comida e cultura. Sou um Otaku há muitos anos e aprendo a base das palavras em japonês enquanto assisto animes e leio mangás. No momento, temos uma estudante japonesa em nossa casa por um tempo aprendendo inglês. Fiz um pouco de Miso Ramen um dia e ela aprovou! Sou especialista em culinária japonesa. Mas adoraria visitar o país e ver o Monte Fuji e visitar templos e santuários em Kyoto. O país é um país muito organizado e seu povo também é muito organizado e limpo.

  Diferente da Nigéria, o clima é mais parecido com o que estou acostumado agora. O país também tem alguns lugares mais frios no norte com grandes nevascas. As pessoas não são calorosas como a Nigéria, mas são muito educadas e respeitosas. Com certeza a língua é a principal barreira, já que o japonês é totalmente diferente dos países ocidentais, meus filhos seriam os que mais sofreriam. Talvez eu não me mudasse agora, por causa disso.

  Eu também poderia citar muitos outros países e escrever sobre cada um deles, mas é sempre bom ler, ver e sentir as emoções de estar em um lugar diferente, com comidas, vistas e coisas para fazer diferentes. Nigéria e Japão são definitivamente lugares incríveis para se visitar um dia.
