Hive Chess S18 Round 7- Some games and King walk
Hello everyone.
Hive Chess and Norway Chess at the same time is good combination. It is all about chess. Last day of Norway chess is on Friday. Round 8 for us and Round 10 for the best players in the world.
Some update on Norway Chess. Todays match between Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura which ended in draw in Classical and Hikaru won Armagedon (Magnus lost on time). Also it was game between world number one rated player in Classical and number two rated player since Hikaru took number two spot from Fabiano Caruana. Magnus is now leading tournament with 13 points and Hikaru is second with 12.5 points. It will be interesting tournament to the end.
Back to the Hive Chess.
Congrats to the @samostically on winning this round and @eniolw and @masterswatch being second and third.
Round 7 was quite good for me. Out of 9 games played I managed to win 5 of them. And three of those were berserk mode. Finishing 8 in this strong field was success for me.
I started tournament with a loss and ended tournament with a loss. And it was @masterswatch both times having easy walk to the win.
Pairing was good this round so I tried to take best of it.
It says that my performance was 1610 but with so many blunders I dont think it was near that level.
Lets start with my game against @darruiz. Nice game. I had couple bad moves but in the end I managed to get better position. Game lasted for 51 moves and I blundered queen on move 21. I castled into the fork. How about that?
In the end game finished good for me even though I made so many bad moves.
Lesson from this game is that you should never give up during the game of chess.
This game is against @rodrook.
Diagonals are nice. Bishop on the diagonal is beautiful. I may try to play openings with bishop on the diagonals.
If you have active bishops game is quite easier.
And in these two loss my opponents took my king for a walk before end of a game. So lesson learned - king should not go for a walk without its support.
I had no chance.
@masterswatch did it like this.
And @rafaelaquino took the king even further.
Good round, good chess, blunders and wins. What else you can ask for on the chess board?
So for the next round I should look for a better openings.
And stay away from @masterswatch and @rafaelaquino :).
👀 last round was crazy, you are also in the tournament 2 range so I had to stay focused 🫢
Nice rounds, please don't prepare a good opening I suck at openings 🤣 and I will see you on Friday 🔥
Lets see
looks like no opening prep XD
Congratulations!
