Splinterlands Art Contest Week 301 - Cerberus FanArt Drawing [ENG-ESP]

Hello dear friends, a very special greeting to all the aliens here in the community, I have returned again and this time participating in the weekly Splinterlands contest with a drawing, I have chosen the letter of Cerberus, the fearsome dog of the lord of the underworld, the one who prevents souls from escaping hell. This character is full of great mythology that makes him a memorable creature, I have taken him as a reference to make this fanart that is oriented more towards realism. To make my drawing I did it by mixing elements of a lion, wolf and ram's horns, I wanted to make a very fearsome beast and here I show you step by step how I did it, I hope you like it.

Hola queridos amigos, un saludo muy especial a todos los aliens aquí en la comunidad, he regresado nuevamente y esta vez participando en el concurso semanal de Splinterlands con un dibujo, he escogido a la carta de Cerberus, el temible perro del señor del inframundo, aquel que evita que las almas escapen del infierno. Este personaje esta lleno de una gran mitología que lo convierte en una criatura memorable, lo he tomado como referencia para hacer este fanart que esta orientado más hacia el realismo. Para hacer mi dibujo lo hice mezclando elementos de león, lobo y cuernos de carnero, quise hacer una bestia muy temible y aquí les muestro paso a paso como lo hice, espero que les guste.

PROCESS

I made a sketch of the first of the heads, located to the left of the cardboard, I started by making some black lines on top of the sketch and then added white, since I wanted the fur to be in some bright areas and thus there would be a contrast .

Hice un boceto de la primera de las cabezas, situada a la izquierda de la cartulina, comencé haciendo unas líneas de color negro encima del boceto y luego agregué color blanco, ya que quería que el pelaje quedara en algunas zonas brillantes y así hubiera un contraste.

For the color combination for the fur I used a bluish gray, mixed with a darker gray, brown and black only in the parts where it was most required, so I also began to paint the middle head which I made it a little more ferocious and I added ram horns to make it more terrifying, I remembered King Gidorah, Godzilla's mortal enemy, where the middle head was the most intelligent and brutal of all.

Para la combinación de colores para el pelaje utilicé un gris azulado, mezclado con un gris mas oscuro, café y negro solo en las pártes donde más era requerido, así también comencé a pintar la cabeza del medio la cual la hice un poco más feroz y le agregué cuernos de carnero para hacerlo más aterrador, recorde a King Gidorah, el enemigo mortal de Godzilla, donde la cabeza del medio era la mas inteligente y brutal de todas.

I continued painting and drawing the head, I had not made a complete sketch, I am getting used to following my intuition with color more than following an already established model, I think it is helping me a lot in certain aspects.

Seguí pintando y dibujando la cabeza, no había hecho un boceto completo, ya me estoy acostumbrando a seguir mas mi intuición con el color que seguir un modelo ya establecido, creo que me esta ayudando mucho en ciertos aspectos.

As for painting Cerberus, I made all the mixtures to give it realism, also using a tone of yellow ocher and brick red around the edges. If I have to say which part was the most complicated to do, I think it was making their mouths, the fangs were small so the color line was a little difficult for me, but in the end I was able to make the arrangements.

En cuanto a pintar a Cerberus hice todas las mezclas para darle un realismo, utilizando también un tono de color amarillo ocre y rojo ladrillo por los bordes. Si tengo que decir cual parte fue más complicada de hacer, creo que fue hacer sus bocas, los colmillos eran pequeños por lo que el trazo con color se me hizo un poco difícil, pero al final pude hacer los arreglos.

To finish, with a brush I began to blend the colors, each stroke and thus the drawing became with a more realistic finish, I also painted the surface a little and made a shadow so that a better effect could be achieved.

Para finalizar, con un pincel comencé a difuminar los colores, cada trazo y así el dibujo se iba tornando con un acabado más realista, también pinté un poco la superficie e hice una sombra para que se pudiera lograr un mejor efecto.

FINAL WORK

This is how my Cerberus fanart turned out, I made it very fierce, the reason for choosing such dark colored cardboard is so that the drawing obtains more realism. I was very happy with how it turned out, I think it looks like the guardian of the underworld, and one of those bites would tear out all the corners of your soul. Así quedó mi fanart de Cerberus, lo hice muy feroz, la razón de escoger cartulina asi de colores oscuros es para que el dibujo obtenga más realismo. Quedé muy contento por como me quedó, creo que si luce como el guardian del inframundo, y una de esas mordidas te arrancaría todos los rincones de tu alma.
