LORE IN SPLINTERLANDS:

When Riklauniman Adrin'eth returned to Praetoria to fight the legions of Chaos after the defeat of the Splinterlands' joint armada, Satha Toledo was one of the rangers who volunteered to join him. While young and impulsive, she is an incredible markswoman and lethal with a blade.

Her beloved Bryla was slain during an assault on the Chaos Empire's flagship, the Vicious Maw, in the port city of Telburg. Since then, Satha fights not only for freedom, but revenge. She will never forget what was taken from her, and she will never forgive. Any legionnaire who seeks her mercy will find it only at the tip of her arrows or the edge of her blade.

🎨THE MATERIALS USED AND THE ART PROCESS 🎨

Materials used:

-ipad
-apple pencil
-procreate

Art Process:

I had a lot of fun making this art piece, I have also learned a lot in making a stylized ersion of Satha Toledo. So starting with the line art:

In making the line art for any of my artwork, I first always imagine how I would want the final piece would look like and would just make adjustments along the ways to make it better. So in the line art I start with the face then proceeds to the body and its form. I really like those iconic scene where archers are in the right angle and is ready to snipe ther targets. I tried to recreate the scene in this particular artwork... did I do a great job in the end??πŸ˜…

What I did here... after putting a new layer for clipping mask, I put the basic colors of the charaacter that Im drawing. This technique allows my to imagine how Im going to apply my shadows and highlight in my artwork. As you can see I got a little lost with the skin tone bacause im a bith new the the application so I kept in trying new shades. The next thing I did was to start shading, starting from the face working my way in te entire canvas.

I always do the face first because it the most difficult for me. By doing this, I do not put myself in a position where I focus all my fresh energy to other parts tha doesnt need more attension than the face. (As you can see the arrows in the back is already rendered out, its because I acidentally merged the line art layer and the layer where I put the rendering of the arrows😭)

After doing the face, I proceeded with the cloths, Satha Toledo wears this scarf that has that deep red color that would fit in a golden hour lighting. I had a lot of trouble with how to render the scarf because I stil dont have the enough stored in my mental library on how to properly render cloths.

I still find it difficult to render hair with all the strands while combining soft and hard edges. I still have a very very long way to go before I start showing great improvements in my final artworks as well as the time needed to make them.

Here I added the final rendering in the artwork where I addded where I hoped that would make the final piece better. For the final rendering I added the shadow effect and the highlights and bounce light in the hair for a more scenic portrait.
