Red Horizon | A Mixed Media Art Project

With only four awesome pure fractals and a diffusion image, I created an awesome kaleidoscope bursting with beauty. The theme of my project focuses on the crimson background, while the foreground houses the facial expression of the diffusion image. I love pairing my fractal designs created in an advanced fractal rendering program, Apophysis 7X, with other type mixed media.

I utilized Canva to design my fractal project. Only one fractal, titled "Bracelet" required its background to be removed in order to blend the images. To a blank, white canvas I added all four fractals and resized, duplicated, then repositioned them on the screen.

The fractal design was created to be used in an animation project. The design would be the background and further animated.

Step 2:

For the diffusion image, I utilized StarryAI, the stable diffusion program. I was pleased with how the program handled the prompt for the scarring on the man's face. I knew I wanted to use the image as the still version in the scene.

Step 3:

I uploaded the stable diffusion image into Canva to blend it with the fractal project to create the still version of the mixed media art design.

Step 4:

I wanted an animation for the background only as I felt adding the face beforehand would clutter the final animation. To create the fractal video, I uploaded the still fractal project into Deep Dream Generator. This program's newest feature is video creation. The iteration is short, only 5 seconds, but that was sufficient. Below is my result, which turned out nicely using the RUNWAY style:

Step 5:

Finally, I returned to Canva to upload the video so that I could add the stable diffusion image. After adding the image, I resized and positioned it in the center so that the animation could capture the face and expose the eyes.

Once completed, I downloaded the project this time as a GIF since PeakD won't allow MP4 videos. Even with the GIF image, I had to ensure that the size was within the parameter PeakD would accept.
