Mabel's puppy

Mabel's puppy isn't happy today, the once playful dog unmotivated by nothing. Mabel was worried, she watched the dog from afar stare at the object with no interest and she suspected something was wrong. Maybe a colored ribbon may work, she thought as she walked inside and picked a many color toy dog bone and threw it before her puppy who remained indifferent.

"Doctor Pim, my dog has been acting too dull recently," Mabel told Pim, a veterinary doctor who was assigned to come check the dog.
"It'll be fine. It probably feels lonely" Doctor Pim replied, "I'll advise you to get her a friend, it may help" he added.
Mabel smiled softly, she had seen how her puppy looked at other dogs whenever she took a walk on the street with her, that should be a great idea, she thought.

The following morning, Mabel brought in a dog, she noticed how happy her puppy became. Jumping from one end to another and returning at a short interval to embrace the little dog. Mabel was happy to see a new behavior displayed by her puppy and she watched him keenly as he played around.

"I told you she'll change. Dogs don't like to feel lonely" Doctor Pim said while patting the little puppy.
"Now I know, I'll ensure it doesn't feel lonely again" Mabel said as she thanked Doctor Pim. Once again she turned to look at her little puppy jumping happily in her arms.

Sometimes we do need another companion, not another thing ... a good reminder of the fact!

No matter how introverted one is, he/she needs at least a companion to be happy.

Hopefully, they won't wreck the place together or start fighting once the pup is an adult.

This is akin to being an only child I feel @dwixer. Just look at the change in the puppy when he received a playmate he could connect with. I've heard the same thing about other animal breeds. For instance, a horse needs a companion to ward off the loneliness. I've read that they need companionship so owners pair them with a goat, donkey, or another horse.

I was happy to read that the owner noticed the puppy's discontent and sought help from a professional.

Thanks for sharing. An enjoyable read with a concrete solution. Take care.

I think animals are more like humans too when it comes to need for companionship. Everyone needs someone 😊
