A Grave Miscalculation of Loyalty | Based on 28 September, @mariannewest's Freewrite Writing Prompt Day 2173 | Prompt: the last battle (la última batalla)

Over the far horizon to the north, a black hooded figure standing almost nine feet tall raised his scepter toward the heavens. She answered with a blaze of blue, vengeful lightning bolts that poured her strength into ThunderDrake. They were one. He looked down upon them; ants in a land of titans, then descended the hill. Marching steadily toward his enemy, within moments, a massive clump of bodies resembling a thousand warriors leaped over the mounds. Armed with only spears, lanced with deadly poison, they followed ThunderDrake closely.
The blazing midday sun shone relentlessly on their bare chests as bloodshot eyes dripped venom onto the bronze chiseled frames.
Captain Rooker's hands trembled as his field glasses brought the enemy into focus. The vast array of bodies from one end to the other formed one unbreakable adversary. White warpaint covered their round, dark faces as each blended into a cohesive band, ready to wield their strength behind ThunderDrake with one objective; pierce the enemy's hearts. Although barefooted, every step brought with it a thunderous clap that separated the ground.
The Captain's heart sank. At that moment, his resolve weakened. Tactical knowledge of the enemy's readiness had fallen short. What price does honor and loyalty cost? he questioned, analyzing the descriptive battle positions from his superior in that vague dispatch.
Betrayal knocked him backward.
Captain Rooker stumbled, then rose. I have no right to display weakness. Ridding our land of tyrants is the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. My soldiers weighed the risks. Still, the morning dawned with those brave men at my side ready to give their lives to the mission, he lamented.
They waited. With make-shift bayonets at their sides, each man locked arms that stretched the length of their small unit. What is done can't be undone, he reckoned.
His thoughts wandered to the lone soldier he commissioned to remain behind on top of the cliff. Two scenarios he left in his charge.
Several more minutes passed. He hoped, but had yet to hear the soldier's trumpet calling more troops to their aid.
ThunderDrake's breath roared in his ear.
Captain Rooker did not look back.

No tengo derecho a mostrar debilidad.

A brave soldier is one who fights in the same way and continues to fight for his family members for the sake of his country without caring for his own life. Great story.
Yes, Captain Rooker was a brave soldier and was willing to fight for his country and idea of freedom. He faced a formidable enemy, one which he would not be able to defeat with help. But I don't think help came as he was betrayed.
Thanks so much for your visit and kind compliment for my story. I appreciate it. Take care.
!ALIVE
@djbravo! You Are Alive so I just staked 0.1 $ALIVE to your account on behalf of @ justclickindiva. (1/10)
The tip has been paid for by the We Are Alive Tribe through the earnings on @alive.chat, feel free to swing by our daily chat any time you want, plus you can win Hive Power (2x 50 HP) and Alive Power (2x 500 AP) delegations (4 weeks), and Ecency Points (4x 50 EP), in our chat every day.
Most welcome dear.
Hi @justclickindiva
I run a Club named 50K List Power Club whose members are voted by me (with more than 500K LIST POWER) for their posts bearing tags such as #contest, #wanted etc. Membership is only open to those who agree to abide by the Rules of the Club and follow them diligently.
I notice that you have been posting content with the tag #contest of late, and have been following most of the Rules of the Club, except for one. To comply fully with the Club Rules, you just need to make sure that you power-up your $LIST earning everytime you post content with one of the qualifying tags, such #contest, #wanted etc..
I also notice that you have bought substantial amount of $LIST and powered them up recently. In view of your commitment to and the trust you have placed in the HIVELIST community, I am glad to invite you to join the aforesaid club.
If you wish to join the Club, please indicate your wish and your agreement to abide by the Rules of Club by responding to this comment.
Please note that by staking LIST you get to join the LIST STAKING CLUB, which entitles you to get discounts at various platforms as stated here.

I already complied with what you're asking above in a previous post indicating my wish to join and agreement with the rules.
Do members only earn daily curation rewards after reaching 50K ListPower?
Plus, I will regularly stake List when I remember to do so. Not doing so immediately shouldn't affect my standing.
Where do you receive your VP from to support members as I don't see you have any substantial means to do so?
I haven't seen (and couldn't see) any such response from you in my "replies" page. Please provide the link to the response.
You earn curation rewards in $LIST from ground up (not from 50K LIST Power) as long as you have some LIST staked. In addition you will also be earning your Author Rewards for articles you have posted and staking rewards in List.
If you do not regularly stake (meaning at least whenever you post an article with the tags for participation in HIVELIST rewards (#forsale, #contest #wanted #event #fundraising etc)) I will simply not vote your post. This is to make sure that I apply the Rules to all the members equally. It is important that I do so to be fair to all members. There are some members who stake on a daily basis whether they post articles or not. I am NOT asking you to do that. It actually benefits them to do so because it increases their LIST POWER and consequently their earnings in Curation Rewards. Also it helps them to reach their target of 50K LIST POWER sooner.
I am promoting LIST (and not HIVE) through this CLUB. MY VP is in LIST POWER, which now stands in excess of 520,000 LIST POWER, the highest among all the stakers holding LIST POWER. See extract from Richlist posted below. However you do get upvotes from my other account (@devann) where I hold in excess of 12,000 HP, whenever you are in compliance with the RULES.

Hello. Thanks for your response. I didn't know your other account was @devann. Yes, I have seen support from this account. I appreciate it.
Someone from Diy.Blog wrote to me asking whether I had joined the 50K List Club and sent a link. I responded to the post in the link, then logged onto the 50K site. It's odd I can't locate the comment I made there.
My reply was that I was in favor of joining the 50K ListClub and would abide by the Rules.
Take care.
Congratulations for joining the 50K List Power Club. Please check out the Hivelist Tokenomics Page to be familiar with the tags you can use to become eligible for upvotes from me. Use them only when it is proper to use them as per the guidelines.
When you use these tags your posts will get extra eyeballs because your posts will also appear on the HiveList Classifieds Website.
All the best.
